Hey everyone,
I just purchased a 2021 Ram Rebel 5.7 HIMI Etorque, my question did I get a good price? It’s a crew cab and has a gloss black 8.4 inch screen comes with equipment 2 by ram minus a few things .. I got them down to 41k 3% rate with a $12,000 2015 V6 mustang trade in, that had 75,000 miles on it but got fooled by a extended warranty that offers bumper to bumper for 100,000 miles and 3 years of free oil changes, and three years of tire replacements for an extra $5000 which made the out the door cost $46,000. Is that a good deal?

First off, great looking truck! I have never purchased an extended warranty nor would I, but there are other guys who do. If you keep your truck for the full term of the warranty, and take advantage of 100% of what it offers, then you may have made the right decision. The main thing here is, the added warranty didn't make your purchase price obscene, and you can't "un-purchase" it, so just enjoy the truck!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on the new truck.

As for the deal we would need all the numbers to see (MSRP, Sale price, Incentives you got, etc...). So you paid $5000 for Oil changes and a warranty?

The good news is if you are having regrets about the warranty is you can cancel it and get all your money back.

It started at 57,000 I got 12,000 for my trade in (2015 v6 mustang) and I got a $4000 dealer rebate... which then brought the total to 41,000 then I got the Mopar extended warranty with added $5000 to make the end out the door total $46,000

I believe you could of gotten the MaxCare Warranty with that same coverage for way less than that. There is a thread on the people you can contact and get prices but they are less than $3,000 I believe. Honestly getting free oil changes at the dealership isn't always the greatest thing as they don't always employee the best people for the job and are prone to mistakes. Just my thoughts.

If you paid $5k for that warranty, cancel it and get a full refund. You can do WAY better.

Beautiful truck! Seems like a pretty comparable price to what I saw when looking around.

We had a local guy selling a 2020 2WD Rebel without the air ride for $31,500 that he had only had for a month and that deal smelly ridiculously fishy.

Honestly, not a bad price for that truck. Yeah you may have been better off without the warranty and oil changes but if the deal works for you then that is all that matters. Someone out there will always claim to have gotten a better deal.

Really? Is this true for any vehicle? I have a jeep with an extended warranty that I am selling off to a reseller. How fast can this be done? I have never heard of doing this.

You have a certain amount of time to cancel the warranty when you first buy it. I have seen it with different car brands.

If you have had the car for a while it doesn’t work like that.

It all depends on the extended warranty. I know the one I have I can cancel at any time.

Yes, after reading this I pulled the file on my jeep. Sure enough you can cancel at any time. Now I have to fight with a dealer in the next state for the refund. Wonder how that will go...

Hopefully they make it easy on you... although I doubt it will. I just emailed my finance manager today to start the conversation on selling it. For all they know I could be selling the truck and want my money back from the warranty so if they ask that's one thing I might tell them.

Looking at the deal listed above, I question if it was a good deal. You said it started at $57k. With discounts and rebates, they were at $49k. I think you could've gotten a better deal, but if you're happy with it, then that's all that matters. They took $8k off your MSRP. I was able to get $11,500 on my '21 Rebel that was about $60k MSRP. I don't know what the rebates and discounts are today though.

In some states, the warranty prices are fixed. Even Ziegler cannot reduce it, so it may or may not have been a bad price for the warranty. As for canceling the warranty sometimes you have to show the loan was paid off in order to do that. If that is the case you can refi the truck with another institution and get a payoff letter from the original lender then get the warranty cost back. These things vary from state to state so you may need to check. Great looking truck, fair price, like another member said "If it works for you enjoy it" Some guy somewhere got a better deal is always the case. I know lots of people have done far worse.
