Ghosting Image

Please help! I posted on here before and I still haven’t come up with a solution…

my UConnect 4C on my 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn with 85,000 miles has had an issue since I bought it 6-7 months ago. The screen shows a “ghost” image of the previous screen when switching. It does it on the cluster as well.

Example, when listening to the radio and putting the truck in reverse, the radio screen is in the background for about 30-60 seconds before it fades away.

My dealer suggested a new screen but since it’s the cluster as well, I don’t think that’ll resolve it.
UConnect says I am out of warranty because I’m over the mileage so they won’t do anything, and say they’ve never heard of such a thing

Has anyone had any success in fixing this issue?

Very weird issue, I would try unhooking the battery and letting it reboot...don't freak out, some things take a while to come back.

That is something more than a ghosting. That's more like the previous screen is only being dimmed.

Known issue with these 8.4 nav units. Needs a new screen.
I've never seen this happen to the EVIC screen tho... weird.
Could be a faulty radio unit but I doubt that.
Dealer did swap my radio head-unit when I first had this problem, but it didn't fix it so they've replaced the screen too.

It fades away slowly in about 30 seconds or so

was your cluster doing the same thing? The dealer suggested the screen replacement but I don’t see how the screen being replaced will fix the cluster too…

Only my radio did that...
Does it get really cold where you live?
I found it to be more noticeable when it was cold...

What did that cost? so just a new screen did the trick? My cluster does the same thing which makes me feel like its either a software issue or something internal, not just the screen.

It was under warranty still at that point so it was free
