So got new 25 Ram 1500 Bighorn with Hurricane and 35s and 3" lift dealer has done. Only got 1000 miles and love it..... However before I read about the gear limiter I thought it was like a paddle shifter and used it to shift at higher RPM than just using drive. Worked awesome actually better than the paddle in my wife's Jag. So why is it bad to use it like that, what does it screw up??

As long as you aren't exceeding recommended RPMs (especially during break-in), I don't see where it will hurt anything. At least 50% of the time I manually shift my truck, sometimes just because I get to enjoy the exhaust more 😁

it is not bad

I use mine to hold truck back when going down hills, saves brakes.

Well I googled it. And of course if it's. On the Internet it has to be true right? Lol

It's there for a reason; as long as you aren't slamming it repeatedly up against the rev limiter it's not a problem. I tow with it on in combination with TH mode to keep it locked to 6th for hours at a time.
