I'm new to the forum, and Monday I picked up my 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn, 5.7 Hemi, North Package and BUG. I have the mud flap narrowed down to Gatorback or Duraflap. The only chrome on my truck are the badges, so I'm not looking for bright stainless. My truck does have fender liners front and back. Duraflap told my the blend they use won't sail, so the stainless is just for looks and not to the weigh the flaps down. I know I can order Gatorbacks with powder coated SS.

I read a bunch of reviews of both on this forum. Has anyone had both? If so what are the pros and cons on one over the other? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I haven’t run the Gatorbacks but I have the Duraflaps on my truck. They are correct that it won’t sail and the chrome is just for looks. They offer it in mirror finish, brushed finish, and no stainless at all. The fit and finish is really good and if you order the no drill they’re super simple to put on.

Mine are the 14” wide and extra long because I have a leveling kit and if I got to 285/295 tires in the future they’ll still cover. IMO they are just the right size.

Can't comment on the Duraflaps, but I have the Gatorbacks (on both my trucks), and you can order the gunmetal grey color so it's not chrome. The flaps are very heavy, won't 'sail'. Thick heavy duty rubber, secure and easy mounting.

Cons? Cost. Pretty much it... buy once, cry once...

I have the gatorbacks and am really happy with them. They really do a good job of keeping the road crap off your truck but i have read the same thing about the duraflap. I think both are definitely better than the small plastic bolt on's.

I have the gatorbacks in gun metal grey. They are tough and beefy. They are great.

Here are photos of the DuraFlap. Super easy to install. No holes were needed to be drilled.

Hoping you can give me some guidance here...I have no flares as well, and on the Duraflap site they ask : "IF ORDERING FOR DODGE WITHOUT FLARES; IS THE LOWER TRIM IN PLACE?"
I think I know what they are referring too, but the small black plastic trim piece behind my tires look a bit different than yours. Do you happen to know definitively what Duraflap is meaning by "lower trim"?
