When I fill up the last few times and I insert the fuel nozzle in the fill tube I get get a decent bit of hissing for a couple seconds. I can’t recall if I had it on the very first fill up or not.

Is this normal or should I have it looked at?

Probably normal. It's the fumes in the tank escaping. Warmer weather means more fumes. In the olden days, you might have heard a hiss when you unscrewed the gas cap.
I’ve had cars that would have a tiny bit of a hiss at times but this was just a lot more than I expected or am used to. Just got the truck two weeks ago.

Over the weekend I put in 10 gallons to get me through the weekend and make it to a BP station on my way back home. So it wasn’t a complete fill up. I checked several times over the weekend after a drive (all of them were pretty short…no more than 15 minutes or so) and no hissing whatsoever.

When I got to the BP station on the way home I filled it up from about quarter of a tank and then drove the rest of the way home (120 miles). When I got home I checked by pushing in the flapper and there was the hissing again that lasted a second or two.

No signs of an evap system problem…idles fine, no surging or anything, gas mileage was great, plenty of power when accelerating.
