Is that range value decreasing? After I got mine back from a repair once I thought my gauge was stuck also. I could swear I had driven enough for it to start moving. Turns out it was fine I was just not patient enough.View attachment 198572
Brand new truck. Mpg is showing crazy low level. Havent towed or hauled anything yet.
Also my gauge is stuck at full. I filed it up on Saturday and have driven maybe 70 miles.
Any ideas what could be causing it? Thought they might be related.
It actually went up a little bit for the first few days and just started going down this morning on my way to the job.Is that range value decreasing? I think there were about 30 miles on it. When I bought it, so they are all mine. No loads or towing yet. Split between highway and residential. Not a particularly aggressive driver. Don’t live around hills. 11 just seems wildly low. Don’t know idle time, I’ll have to look at that later.Have you put all of those miles on it? What's your idle time? What kind of driving? My gauge doesn't budge for quite a few miles either

I agree. Especially after a fill-up. There may be additional fuel in the fuel neck if more fuel was added after the initial click-off in attempt to top off the tank...
I never top off. Just seems like it should have moves by now .I agree. Especially after a fill-up. There may be additional fuel in the fuel neck if more fuel was added after the initial click-off in attempt to top off the tank...
My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 is like that.Update: it started moving in the afternoon. I think it’s just a very weird nonlinear fuel gauge. Which is annoying but not anything to lose sleep over.
This seems true for all of us. I have never looked at the actual numbers from full to half vs. half to empty. Like how many gallons to fill up when guage is at half vs. how many to get to half from empty. Or how many miles of range from full to half vs. half to empty. Personally I just watch my fuel guage and get gas when it gets low. I drive mostly city so I'm never far from a gas station. Then, below half tank it speeds down to E, and fuel light comes on just below 1/4, when range hits 50mi remaining. It's a bit deceiving and disproportionate, so Im just going off the Range to E instead of fuel level since it gives me a better idea when to fuel up.
