Fuel door on 2020 Rebel

The fuel door latch on my 2020 Rebel has trouble releasing and reengaging. I have to pound on the door to get it open and pound on it to get it to latch closed again. Is there any adjustment to this?

I found that you need to apply pressure directly over the latch to engage and disengage this. I understand that any other vehicle with a spring loaded latch just requires a push "anywhere" on the door and it works. Once I started applying the pressure about 1" in from the right side of the door, it latches/unlatches every time.

I did not look close enough to see if there's an adjustment, because my thought is that any adjustment might be for alignment of the door to the bed only and will still be an issue with the latch.
