Front diff swap/regear

Just checking in to see if anyone has done the 3.21 to 3.92 swap on a 4x4.
Looks like differential carriers are becoming more available and running sbout 600 shipped.

I’m not interested in getting a new/different truck at this time. The 3.21s have been fine but I’m on 35s and feel like the 3.92 could give me a better experience, especially when I start travelling more.

Interested in insight on labor for a diff swap and rear regear. Hours for a shop vs hours in a driveway.
Any alfaobd changes?
Anything else besides the front diff and the rear need changed for this?

Called around to several 4x4 shops and everyone said they don’t have the equipment to do this job.
Sounds like no one wants paid.

Hard to find someone to do this kind of work anymore. I handle 90% of my own stuff but regeared a trans am 2 years ago and ran into problems finding a shop to do it. Got lucky and found a guy in Ranson Wv

I’m no mechanic but I know my way around. I’ve not done much with the drivetrain though so it makes me a little nervous to do it myself.

I’ve done my entire suspension, so I’m sure I could get the front diff done, but opening up the rear pumpkin…. No thanks. Lol

These shops are telling me they dont have the equipment, or they only regear jeeps. I don’t get it. I watched those videos previously posted and it just seems like for someone thst had a lift, and is getting paid, this should be an easy job for them.

They don't want to do it. Jeeps are the same as you mentioned by the videos. I found a local guy with front diff and rear end for $1200, but I don't have the ease of getting them and installing myself living in a complex.
