So, doing a little tire rotating yesterday...have a new set of pads on the shelf, just because. Figured might need em by now. Wrong! Can't believe these pads still have what looks to me like 70% left!! At this rate I'll maybe be doing first brake job at 100K 😁

It amazed me a couple weeks ago when I did mine at 22k. They looked to me like they had ~80% left. Reminds me of when I had an srt-4 and my first brake job was at 95k. (I bought it new)

Changed mine a few weeks back at 32k just because I wanted to go ceramic. I was really surprised with how much pad material was left

I'm at 85k miles now with plenty of life left but planning to replace mine at 100K.
I'm amazed at how well the factory brakes work so I'm curious if the ceramic are really any better?

No, ceramic pads create less dust. They do this because they don't wear as quickly. The reason they don't wear as quickly as because they don't have the same amount of friction with the rotor. Less friction, less braking force.

Yeah I did the swap just for less dust, can’t say theres anymore bite since imo the stock pad do a amazing job already, Powerstop does make a heavy duty pad geared more toward towing but figured ill wait until i’m towing more consistent for that.
