Rear Axle (3.92)
We recommend you use Mopar Synthetic Gear Lubricant SAE 75W-140 (MS-8985). Limited-Slip Rear Axles require the addition of 5 oz. (148 ml) Mopar Limited Slip Additive (MS-10111).

Max Tow Rear Axle (3.92)
We Recommend You Use Dana SAE 80W90 Axle Lubricant.

Anyone know how to tell which 3.92 I might have? I’ve never seen the max tow option on a ram just ford.
Thanks in advance.

Max tow is the Dana Super 60 rear end. Only available in 2wd.

No one has showed up yet who has the Dana Super 60.

You have a 4x4. You do not have it.

Yours would be the top one. Requiring the Mopar oil

Thanks, that’s what I thought I had but never seen any mention of a max tow rear before looking at the manual.

That number that everyone thinks their truck can tow...the one all the commercials for all brands like to show that is not available with the truck in the commercial.

That would be a Quad cab 2wd Hemi with eTorque and the Dana Super 60 rear axle.

No one has showed up with it yet. I really just want to know someone got it.

The 9.5 inch Dana Super 60 differential is easy to recognize on a Ram 1500 as there are cooling lines from the engine going to it.
