Hi, I am the owner of a 2019 RAM 1500 Sport with 5.7 V8 Hemi. After I bought it new I had it lifted 5", put 35" wheels on 20x10 rims and had my ECU altered so the 4 Cylinders don't shut off anymore, changed the throttle response and took out the Limited Max speed. The Max speed is now 140mph but doing that on the 35" tires is a bit tricky. I cut out the giant oem mufler and installed a outlaw mufler from Flowmaster. Currently it has 52000 miles and I had some issues with the truck. I had the windshield tinted and that damaged the BCM. Regularly the dash showed me there was no BUS working in the car. I can tell you doing 85 mph in heavy traffic in the rain and than losing wipers, indicators and blower is no fun. In many occasions I couldn't even switch the car off or lock it. Now I bought a second hand BCM on ebay from a 2021 RAM 1500 and still waiting for delivery. I want to program the "new" second hand BCM with an OBD dongle using the Alpha OBD scan app. I also got the splittercable with the 8 pin and 12 pin plugs but I can't seem to locate where to attach them under the dash. Did anyone use these? Also the pushbutton for ACC and Start doesn't work so i guess the old BCM is fried or a fuse or relais died on me. Anybody has experienced this too? I need to copy the data off the sitting BCM and past it to the "new" one.
Worst case, I have to crack the housing of the BCM and see if there's any visible damage on the mainboard and replace some electronic components to get it working again.

You can't program a used BCM with AlfaOBD to work in your vehicle. You will need a dealer to do it or someone with the right software tools to do it. You can find the other info on using the SGW bypass on here using search. There are 2 connections under the dash on the left hand side that you unplug and plug this into.

Thank you for your reply. I'm not saying you might be wrong, but what about this?

Did you look the vehicle year in the YouTube video? There are differences between 4th gen and 5th gen. And did you watch all 3 videos? Also, what he is doing, isn't the same as what you are asking.

Yes, I took that in account. The BCM can be used on multiple generations of trucks and what I learned is that after 2016 Stellantis blocked acces through the OBD port. The solution to that is using the split harness or buy a prescription that gives acces.

You can’t program a used BCM to a 2019+ 5th gen Ram (trust me, I’ve tried every possible way for about 3 years straight), they just aren’t like the 4th gens. You also can’t even program a new BCM to your truck unless you have the dealer do it, or you have an aftermarket witech account with NASTF credentials.
