For those with Off-Road Group Package - Questions

I have been calling my Ram the Mercedes Benz of trucks and I have had some nice trucks over the years. But this one is over the top as far as ability’s and features. I could have gotten a Denali but didn’t like the grill area. I actually had a High country Silverado ordered but that fell apart on GMs side. I am glad of that as of right now. Granted I have less than 1,000 miles on my Ram so far but so far so good.
I don't drive a Mercedes but I love our Ram. I had a 2005 Dodge Ram before we got our 2021 Ram like night and Day great truck we just love it.

Your truck look so good! Confirms my choice to go with 6'4.

The night package comes with 22" wheels and 285/45-22 A/T tires... so now I'm super curious what it will be - if it's falken in that size.. or what it will look like.
I should have noted that I have the 20" wheels. I did not get the Night Package.

I've been googling all over trying to get an answer about ride quality. Is there a difference in ride quality between the orp and the regular package? Stiffer or softer springs?

Black Night Package trucks look so good. Love the setup! What wheels and wheel and tire specs? Did you have to use spacers and are you lifted?
The suspension is the stock ORP. The wheels are 20” Fuel Rebel 6 with +1 offset, no spacers. The tires are Toyota Open Country A/T III LT285/60R20. There is no rubbing with 285. I am not sure a 295 size would fit this setup.

I live in a rural area where the roads are a bit rough and slightly wavy. The ORP shocks feel a lot like the old Bilsteins I had on my Tundra. There is a touch of vibration from the uneven road surface. It’s not really noticeable on a real highway.

Thanks. I was wondering because I pull a 5,500lb travel trailer with about 650lbs of tongue weight. I added air bags to my '21 to help with the sag. Between the 10 ply tires, air bags, and weight distribution hitch, my truck handles our trailer really well.

It also depends on whether you have the air suspension. The ORG and air suspension balance each other pretty well on rough roads, in my opinion.

I had my truck (see sig, Falken AT tires, slightly upsized from factory ORP) in the Providence RI snow storm in 2022. It had a measured 18.8" of snow. I actively TRIED to lose traction: the truck and tire combo is amazing. With 4 Auto engaged (I also played with my e-locker) it just would not slide.

Some snowbanks were over 2'. I've had snowmobiles that couldn't handle drifts as well as this thing. ;)

After that, my confidence in this truck simply soared.

That sounds fun! Growing up in Minnesota... I think I would have gotten in too much trouble with a truck like this. What size where the tires?

Mine drives nicer and more comfortable than any of my loaded Chevys did with Z71 package. I have the air ride though I cannot comment on the non air ride Rams.

Nice. What is the listed payload of your truck? Since I'll be towing occasional 6000lb car haulers... I wanted to know what packages to keep off that hurt payload. I've been reading the ORG adds 180lbs (skid plates, suspension, tires). NOt sure how true that is though.

Well, I am not sure what mine is now I forgot. You are correct the ORG adds some weight. I would think you would be ok but there is a fairly good breakdown of the different models on RAm web site under towing and capacity’s if I remember right . I pull a 181/2 foot bass boat with mine doesn’t even feel like it’s back there. But that’s only about 4800 pounds loaded up with all my gear and 26 gallons of fuel in the boat.

I was looking at a 2025 Big Horn with the off-road package and it was 1500 and some change payload. My 2021 Big Horn has 1784lbs of payload, but I've also added side steps, roll up tonneau cover, and now run a 33"+ 10 ply tire. Our travel trailer weighs 1,500lbs ready to travel and I also installed 1000hd air springs. I was just wondering if it would squat more with the off-road springs. Kinda like the power wagon has softer springs.

That was supposed to be 5,500lbs ready for travel. Must of had a couple of brewskies last night.
