Hello all,
I'm new to the truck world and have done a bunch of research. Now I'm stuck trying to decide between black rebel 12, with no sunroof, no bed liner and no running boards/side steps/nerf bars/ whatever tf..... and a black appearance big horn, fully loaded, all the bells and whistles without the leather. All opinions, conjecture and advice are welcome. Thanks in advance. And thanks for having me on the forum.

Back in June when Ram came out with the huge rebates, I new now was the time to get back into the truck scene I had been lusting after for the last many years. To me it was all about the look and feel, I knew I wanted something that looked great and had lots of toys, but what to choose? Slowly I had whittled it down to two trucks, Rebel 4x4 or Laramie 4x4 with the black appearance package. One thing that was a must on any truck I got was it had to be black. Both trucks had options I wanted, didn’t want, and didn’t have. I loved the look of the Laramie except I hated the way the wheels looked in the wheel well (stupid I know). I finally chose the Rebel and super happy I did, I love the look and feel of the truck and although it didn’t have the Rebel 12 package, it did have the level 2 equipment package and the 12 inch screen +++.

Really for us to offer any solid advice, we really need more information. Like what will you be using the truck for, will you have difficulty getting in it without steps, are you hauling a lot in the bed etc etc etc. Now if you’re just going for personal opinion, I prefer simplicity when it comes to trucks.

Side steps/running boards can always be added.

Well. I have love my Rebel if that helps. It has a sunroof, but I honestly couldnt care less if it had one or not it was just how the truck was optioned on the lot. I absolutely agree that running boards can be added...matter of fact, I will sell you mine if you like...I am not a huge fan of how the oem boards look and with entry/exit mode on the air suspension I have no problem getting in :p
You cant really go wrong with either truck. Pick the one that best suits what you want and has the options that you require. Remember that things like bedliners, covers, and steps can be added. Things like sunroofs and infotainment systems are trickier (i wouldnt want an aftermarket sunroof).
Good luck with your purchase!
