First time RAM owner. Shoot I still call it a Dodge mot of the time

I bought a 2024 bighorn 1500 midnight edition. I love it and have had fun not only because the color and blacked out badges make people comment on it, but the utility is better than my old ford. I was a diehard Ford man until I went on the lot and seen this one. I do not like that Ford is no longer putting in a solid rear axel and I think that is what got me first on this truck. I have the solid axel and feel more like I can work with my truck when I need to pull or other work.

I am retired military and 100% disabled but my truck is my safe place to enjoy the world around me.

Yes, the f150's that I looked at had Independent suspension. The bigger ones still have the solid

Were you looking at the EV Lighting? That's the only "F150" with an independent rear suspension, which doesn't have a traditional truck platform even though the body looks like a regular F150.

All regular truck based gas/hybrid F150s have solid rear axles.

Maybe so. But I was definitely not looking at the ev. Lol. The truck felt like driving a car and I guess I still needed the truck feel

If it had an IRS, it had to be a Lighting, especially if it drove like a car.

The regular F150 still also has a leaf spring rear suspension, which isn't as smooth as the RAMs rear coil springs. The F150s ride quality isn't as good as the RAMs, it's one of the reasons why I switched, along with that lovely V8 sound

Agreed, I no longer wanted that 3.4 turbo. Just was not strong enough for me

Welcome. I've been driving RAM since ~2012 and still call it Dodge from time to time. I too had a great F150 before I bought current 2020 RAM. And I wasn't looking for a Night Edition... but it was the deal on the lot as a 2020 trade with 18 000 miles in December 2020. Admittedly, I dig the black on black... but really smile as I tow with the 5.7 Hemi.
