I haven’t liked the base 6 system since day 1 so I finally decided to do a little something. For the first time I decided to go with a dsp and eliminate all passive crossovers and dedicate an amp channel to each speaker. I used the pac interface along with the optical adapter to feed the alpine pxe 0850s processor. From there I used 3 alpine r2-a60f 4 channel amps, 1 to run the 2 tweeters and 2 mods from a focal 165as component set in the rear doors, another to run the 3”sand tweeters from a focal 165as3 component set in the dash and Pilar’s and the 3rd to run the 6” mids from the same set in the front doors. The 4th alpine amp, the r2-a75m runs the side firing jl 10w7 with custom cut and laser engraved grill made out of 1/2” acrylic. This required a 2” set lift that I made from 2” square stock steel. I added siless sound deadening to the inner and outer door skins, floor, and rear cab wall also. Still needs a lot of work tuning, but it sounds much better than the base 6 already. Feel free to comment and add suggestions. And excuse the messy back seat, I have kids lol.
