Key to tinting taillights? Have a buddy who's a b.a. painter. Really happy how it turned out, dramatically changes up the back of the truck.20180831_173959.jpg20180831_182225.jpg20180831_195347.jpg20180831_200830.jpg20180831_205621.jpg20180831_210303.jpg

Looks great. I’ve been looking out to replace mine, but nothing on the market yet.

The more I look at the pictures, the more I think "This would look great on my Black Forest Green" Laramie. With the LED's, I would not be surprised if the tint still allows the truck to pass inspection (500' here in Missouri). Our state is one that had a lawsuit due to blacked out tail lights.

It's a nice look but now the 3rd brake light stands out. Are you going to have it done also?

Your assuming alot considering I didn't post pix with the lights on.
I'm assuming black paint (tinting) reduces brightness. I nearly squashed a car with darkened tail lights a few weeks ago. They were difficult to see with the sun hitting them. I like the custom look as well....just be careful. That's all.

Im contemplating the 3rd brake light. Also you cant assume some ricer who couldn't afford to have em done and paints his lights with black spray paint will have the same results as me. My tails on the Daytona shine thru with no probs. I'll get pix of the truck later on.20180113_003609.jpg

Those really look awesome! If I wanted to get mine done, what specifically should I ask for?

If ever a car needed the tail lights toned down, it's a Charger. Others are barely bright enough. Is it possible to use higher wattage bulbs to compensate for tinting? Seems that would be ideal for vehicles besides the Charger.

Exactly. There are right and wrong ways to do things and results can vary dramatically. I've got an all black 2019 and the lights are the only thing not completely black. I will be looking to change that.

I talked to my buddy who painted them and he said that he uses a black kandy with the clear coat. The kandy allows the light to come through and appear black from the outside.

I just saw your post, see mine right above. Kenny did the tails on our 2500 and those were stupid dark from the outside but the light shined thru with no problems. He said it's all in the materials and he uses kandy with clear coat.

Looks great. I'd love to see a pic during the day with somebody stepping in the brakes and a pic at night.
Here's the day pix, brake on and then just lights on20180901_163451.jpg

Completely off the tint aspect, which looks great by the way, but what's the procedure for removing the taillights themselves?

Thanks you Squire, You are indeed a gentleman and a scholar.

I already had the screws figured out, just wasn't sure on the push pins.
