Fender flares

I've seen and read a bunch about fender flare fitment and availability for rebels or lack there of. I got a set of nearly new rough country SF1s for $100. So decided what the hell I'll try them on. They stick past the body under the headlight and slightly overlap the bumper. It's not awful because of the black trim meeting the black bumper. I'm not keen on it but other might not mind.

Would it be possible to trim the end so it terminates at the bumper? That I think would make it look better.
 
It's bad enough that we have to have flares on Rebels in the first place. But pocket flares are the worst.

that's funny, i wish my Laramie didn't have flairs. ya can't even remove them because of the huge holes left behind.

I know. I totally get it. The way the trim is on my Rebel it would look even worse without flares. I just thisnk they look so clean without them If the flares seem necessary I wish they would just make the fenders go out that far.
