Does anyone have experience like smoothness, handing in snow , or roughness with the AT4’s or Rubitreks ? Or is it worth getting a regular Highway Tires like the HT 02 ?
Those are my 3 candidates.

I'm running the M/T BAJA BOSS AT's on mine. I have 40k miles on them and still at about half tread. They've been great in the sand, snow, rain, freeway towing and not towing. They barely make a noise. I'll be getting another set after these.

My wife has the AT4w on her Jeep and runs them year round in Michigan. She has no complaint in winter, the ride is quite for a Jeep, there is not much road noise at all.

Why are you only considering Falkens? There are some good highway tread with 3peak snow ratings. What about an all weather tire?

I want something different, Falkens have a cool look to them and lots of people love them , and I’m not jumping on the Nitto bandwagon , and Michelins I think of Luxury Sedans. I had K02’s and Grabber ATX in the past.

The top two I'm considering are the Falken and Cooper AT3. Though I do like the MT Baja Boss mentioned above, might consider those. I know those are very popular in the Jeep community. Getting mine mostly for looks on a DD though.

The reason the Cooper are one of my top choices is I had the Discoverer STT Pro on my Jeep and they were the best handling tire I ever had on there and were wearing well.

It's probably not helpful, but I'm having the Falken Wildpeak HT02 installed on Friday. No experience with them yet, but i prefer the HT advantanges with some more aggresive styling. I'm 98% a concrete cowboy so no AT tires for me. The Wildpeak AT3Wa tires were a great blend of utility, 3PMS and styling, but I'm told they are discontinued.

After 6 years and 56k miles, my OEM AT3Was are finally getting close to needing replacement. They still have good tread depth, but the edges are showing wear, and I’d like fresh rubber before this winter.

Given their excellent performance, I’m having another set put on at Discount Tire this week. It came down to the OEM tires vs the AT4Ws, but I didn’t see the need to spend $80 more per tire when we were happy with the ones we had.

Why would you NOT try the Rubitreks?

I ordered a set of A/T3Wa tires (OEM replacements) through Discount Tire last week, only to have them call this week to tell me they actually shipped a set of A/T4W (XL) tires in the same size due to the others being backordered/discontinued. We ended up accepting them at no extra charge, saving $475 due to DT’s inventory management error.

They look “good”, although we liked what we had before. In a few gentle miles of driving, I think they are a little noisier. They do seem to have a better/stiffer turn-in feel, but (to be fair) the old tires did have 56k miles of edge wear on them. Time will tell if these are as good…and they do have a 65k tread wear warranty.

Toyo AT3 are the best snow tire I’ve ran. And I’ve tried all the above.
