Hello on Rams order page for the limited it shows 20” rims with inserts but I think I have seen some trucks with just a chrome insert or no insert at all. What comes with the Ram limited.

Your left image (and RT's above) is the standard Limited 20" wheel. Your right image is the optional 22". Ram has several different 20" pics that seem to show more contrast. RT's looks far more like real world but you should look at them in person if concerned.

Why does the Ram website show you this image of the 20" rims with insert when building the truck. I also got them with silver inserts. I tried to get the inserts off but they seem glued. I think the rims look much better with black inserts.



What mine look like


I may just use masking tape and paint instead of trying to remove. Has anyone removed the inserts or attempted ??

A good candidate for Plasti Dip? I know a number of forum members have used it for wheels and other parts.

Someone around here removed the inserts (took some time) and then painted or had them coated and they looked real nice. A lot of work to get the glue off though. Dipping is much less work and reversible if you dont like it.

Ah, those inserts are epoxied on. I'm not even going to bother with then.

A local body shop told me $100 per rim to paint the inserts. They would tape up the wheel, scuff, prime, paint, clear coat. I think that's not bad deal. I looks like a ton of work to do.

Actually i wanted to have the wheel powder coated black, and leave the inserts chrome.

The rims with the inserts are 22 and the non inserts are 20. Just saw set of 20 rims on a limited yesterday and was surprised. I did not know you could get the old school chromeys.

I had stopped a guy in the parking lot yesterday with a new limited and he had 20 chrome rims without the inserts. I asked if those were the rims he got with the truck, he said yes with a puzzled look on his face. I like the rims pictured and may have to swap out the rims I am getting. The painted gray inserts on the factory 20s coming on my truck do not look right with a black truck, I am kinda picky
