Finally stopped by the dealer yesterday to check on the warranty. For some reason I thought the factory warranty had expired, but sounds like I have 5 year/60k on powertrain, so they will fix it for no charge.Keep us updated as several owners have had or will have the same issue. Mileage varies yet yours in on the younger end.
I'd think the power train may cover it. The extended molar should, it's not a "wear out" part like brakes, belts or wipers.
Update for my situation... Left it with my mechanic buddy after telling him my MPG took a hit and i thought i was hearing the Hemi Tick.I was thinking the same thing if mine cracked. Might as well upgrade to shorties, but after reading about it, it seems just as bad. I’ll prob go BD also when the time comes
Winter fuel and or your tire pressure is lowUpdate for my situation... Left it with my mechanic buddy after telling him my MPG took a hit and i thought i was hearing the Hemi Tick.
He couldn't find anything with the manifold or exhaust in general as far as a leak goes and basically told me he thinks all is running fine and he didn't have a clue as to why i've lost so much MPG lately...
Officially confused as to what may be wrong....
might have to check the tires but being in FL we dont have winter lol.Winter fuel and or your tire pressure is low
I have been waiting for 5 months on the passenger side manifold for my 2019. The dealer did the driver side within a few weeks of determining the issue was both manifolds leaking and it was warranty coverage. The passenger side was a lot louder and is getting louder.... no ETA on the replacement...Finally stopped by the dealer yesterday to check on the warranty. Asked if they do both sides or just the leaking side, they said they only do the side with the leak
I've got 10 months and about 11k left on the warranty, so may wait awhile to take it in, since it goes away pretty quickly after cranking. Maybe the other side will go out in the mean time,
I’d say yesIs this what a cracked manifold sounds like? Just started doing this a week ago.
Mostly, yes.Yep. Does it go away after it warms up?
First post. New to the forum. Brought my truck into the dealer. 2020 5.7 with etorque. 58,950 miles. Still under factory powertrain warranty. Dealer looked it over. I wanted some normal maint done such as fluids and filters. Had two other major concerns. One… transmission would hunt a little for gears at low speeds. 2. I suspected the manifolds were leaking.
1. The pulled the fluid from the engine and determined the transmission has metal in it and the fluids were BLACK. They are completely replacing it with a brand new transmission stating that something inside must have failed. (I’m very happy they are covering this.)
2. They have determined the manifolds have cracked on both sides which I suspected was the case. However they are stating that this is NOT covered under my factory powertrain warranty. Is this true? I’ve seen discussions about 2019’s being covered under factory powertrain.
I did a bunch of searching online, for what is, and what IS NOT covered under powertrain. I’m seeing that this has been converted under factory powertrain.
Anyone have the 2022 powertrain warranty handy breaking down what parts are covered?
Lastly… my oil pan and both valve covers were leaking. I do not beat on my truck… I still have 70% front brakes and 50% rear brakes remaining just to put this into perspective. 90% of my driving was on a highway with no trailer. Just seemed very early for a truck this young to be leaking like this and have broken exhaust and a tranny. Thoughts?
