Exhaust cutout vs. muffler delete vs axle back vs full catback

I want this done ASAP this weekend. Please forgive my ignorance, I think I know the answer to these but want confirmation before purchase.

  1. Do I just need 1 of these cutout exhaust or do I need 2?
  2. Is it 3”?
  3. Where to install in the exhaust line?
  4. How much is a fair price for cutting it out and welding it in less the electrical work?
Thanks you!!!

^^^^ just need 1. Will be 3” diameter. Installed after y pipe. I would think 100-200 total install labor

Thxs brother! The local shop is cutting/welding for $80.

I did the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back. 3” tubing back to 4” black tips. Range of sound is low rumble (kind of a big block sound) to all out hellcat-like depending on throttle pressure.

Has anyone attempted this on the new ED??
Any sound clips would be great

^^^^ with out tuning not feasible. Doubt any exhaust piping room either

Installed the cutout this past weekend and I'm 100% satisfied. One of the best mod ever.

Also added an exhaust tip to the cutout.

Hell yeah it's loud! Stock was so tamed, I’m used to hearing beast mode form past V8s like my C6 Z06 and C63s AMG. Wish I knew about cutouts before.

i did a cutout on my silverado before i sold it for my ram. Man i miss my "fun button". Might have to do it again after this thread.

My biggest consern is that the qtp cutoff exhaust won’t sound as good as a straight piped exhaust wood. Am I wrong?

I replaced the muffler with a FlowFX. slightly louder than stock at crusing speed. nice deep tone under acceleration and not droney. Good for a mild increase in sound.

After researching all the muffler delete options on Youtube, AND rolling the dice that claims of "zero in cabin resonance" were true, I installed the Solo Performance MR300 on Friday. Very disappointed. The improved sound is far outweighed by the loss of in cabin refinement due to the head-crushing resonance that occurs between 1500-2500rpm. I'll be going to back to stock. The online claims of "zero drone" are complete ********.

Hello everybody .
I have questions.
the resonator, directly after the CAT. can i replace the resonator with the cut out? do you notice a difference with cut out but without resonator? almost all of you install the cut out after the resonator.
what happens when you remove the tube with the resonator and turn it. so that the resonator is at the back. the cut out after the cut.

Has anyone with the cutout had the valve actuator fail yet?
I had a cutout on my Ecoboost, and replaced it several times before finally giving up on it. Seemed like the shaft couplers were the weak link.
