Exhaust cutout installed

This truck is too quiet........and I'm too impatient to wait for Mufflex / Carven / Magnaflow, etc to release something.

Decided to throw a cutout on the truck. Best of both worlds, quiet when I want it to be......loud at the flip of a button. Ordered the 3" cutout from racelandusa.com - I've had theirs before on my 2010, great setup.

Took the cutout to a friend's shop last night, and we removed the pipe between the Y pipe and the muffler, welded the cutout in the middle:





Now.......on to the wiring. The kit comes with a controller, 2 remotes and a cig lighter power plug. Neat....but the only lighter is on top of the dash - so thats not going to something easily hidden. On my 2010, I ran it under the hood, and then a fused link to the battery to power it. Didn't want to do that this time, wanted it all inside - as range on the remotes are GREAT, and I wanted the controller out of the weather.

We ran the wiring for the cutout over the driveshaft, along a crossmember, and into the truck through the RamBox area.











Put the boxes back in, ran the wiring up to the fuse box under the dash. Clipped the cig lighter plug, grounded to the fuse box, fuse tapped to the accessory fuse, and......... done!

Anytime you want? I will more than likely leave it open......unless I just flat out don't want to hear it. My 2010 had one, my 2016 had a muffler delete, my Hellcat has catless midpipes and no mufflers........bottom line, I like 'em LOUD

Awesome, I'll probably do the same, wasn't sure if the 3" raceland unit would still work. At $159 it is a fraction of the cost of some exhaust setups and twice the fun. I had a mom and pop muffler shop weld it in, they did a perfect job for $75.

I had this setup on my 2011 - I mounted the controller inside the center console and hooked it to the wiring for the rear cigarette lighter plug. I'm sure there's room inside the 2019 as well.

Is the sound the same as your 2010 or notably different?

My only complaint - I had the unit die in 2-3 years the first time (I think it was electronic, not mechanical but I don't honestly recall 100%) and then the replacement made it less than a year. Last couple years I left the system in place but never touched it.

This is a great compromise vs a full exhaust system. You press the button and in 1 second you go from stock muffler to wide open pipes. It was a great laugh pulling up at a light next to whatever, dropping it in neutral and then revving the engine with the stock exhaust. Then wait for them to reciprocate, and do it a second time with the pipes wide open. And of course when you're pulling in your driveway at 11 pm or starting the truck at 7 am, you have the normal silent stock muffler.

Can you try programming the garage door buttons to send the signal? That would be great vs having to keep the keychain remote.

Hard guess......the '10 left here in June - and it was a totally different truck. Gears make a huge difference, as does the transmission - as at 60 mph you are running different RPMs.

Can you try programming the garage door buttons to send the signal? That would be great vs having to keep the keychain remote.

Glad I'm not the only one that wondered......but no, it didn't work.
