Just thought I'd make a post about this since I couldn't find anyone that's done a comparison.
My wife has a 5.7 with stock exhaust
I bought one that was already muffler deleted, and put a 14" magnaflow on it.
On a scale of 1-10 - 10 being old fashioned straightpipes w/no cats, and 0 being silent
Stock is 1/10
14" magnaflow is a 3/10 (it may get a little louder over time, but with it brand new, this is how i'd rate it)
Muffler delete is 7/10
what's interesting is I had a 2011 ram with 5.7. It had a 18" magnaflow. The 18" on my 2011 was LOUDER than the 14" on my 2019. In fact, the muffler delete on the 2019 is pretty close to the 18" on my 2011
For me, the 14" magnaflow is quieter than I wanted. I figured that'd be the case though, just couldn't figure out what would get me to that 5/10.
