8A311777-110D-4378-AB72-C3FA2BBD17B8.jpegHit 1000hrs today so it made me Curious to see others engine hour totals vs mileage on their trucks. I feel like I never idle mine so 88 of the 1000hrs sounds high. Haven’t looked into the manual yet but I assume when the vehicle is in drive it counts towards drive time regardless if I’m moving or stopped. Otherwise including traffic stops that 88hr of idle seems more believable. Who knows. Let’s see those hours.

I've never seen a page for engine hours. I'll have to check it out.

Well, now I'm curious and I'll have to check this out this weekend.

I have to think the idle meter is a way out to lunch though, I literally never idle my truck; I shut it off even when connecting/disconnecting my trailer etc. If it has 20 actual idle hours I'd be surprised.

I think it counts idle time whenever the truck is running and not in motion, i.e. stop lights, and traffic.

Here is mine. No remote start or any other idle time just sitting and running.

My average mph is lower than I thought but I suppose it's normal for the small town I live in and the fact that I don't drive on the freeway much.

Damn, you drive a lot of miles! Also you live where I live - who'd you buy your truck from? I got mine at AutoNation in JC.

For a second there I thought my god this guy must always be driving fast! Then saw km/h. I guess I idle more than I thought...

AutoNation as well, bought 7/4/18 with 8 miles on it.

what about the time the factory puts on it?

Not sure but can't be that much unless it varies truck to truck, Idahoktm for example posted his truck with 10 idle hours and it's pretty much brand new.

I think most of those idle hours accumulated last winter when we lost power for several days and we needed to warm up and charge phones.

Wooohooo I'm king idle, well at least so far. Roughly 1/3 of mine is idle time, have had it since June and love using remote start during summer/winter to get things comfortable. I won't keep a ram long enough to worry about idle time, definitely not out of warranty, so I figure I may as well enjoy it to the fullest. Compared to getting into uncomfortably hot or cold interior, give me my idle!
