I see there's a thread for discussing bike racks but I don't see a lot of discussion about hauling heavier, fat tire electric bikes.

I just ordered a "Lectric XP" e-bike. It's got 4" wide tires. I have a folding ramp for my dirt bike, so it won't be difficult to roll the 60+ pound e-bike into the bed. But I'd like to find a simple and effective rack to secure the bike in the Rambox bed.

Any suggestions? Any experience with any of the Ride88 models in a Rambox bed with a fat tire bike?

Other suggestions?

Thanks.

I don't have any experience with Ride88 but it looks like it should work much better than a hitch style bike rack that hangs off the back with added drivetime bounce.

That's a relatively heavy little bike. The price is very reasonable though.

I can tell all e-bike owners which one to rule out. Thule's T2 hitch design is very study but their rear wheel holder design is crap. They claim it holds a max 60lb bike. Ours is less than 55lbs. The rear wheel holder design relies on a thin sheet metal to plastic interface. Hindsight is 20/20 but even a child can look at the design and correctly guess which part fails first.

My son's Luna X1 e-bike broke the Thule T2 wheel holder and fell off the back. Fortunately it's a tough bike, we were driving on a lower speed side street, and so just a couple hundred bucks of repair.
