Edited: I cancelled my Mopar extended warranty but reactivated it after some good advice on here!

BOATLOADS? What do you think the average profit on an EXTENDED WARRANTY sold ONLINE would be??????????

Theres only one reason not to get one. They make boat loads of money selling them. Therefor odds are greatly in your favor.

Yeah, I still can't figure where that statistic came from . . . .

From consumerreports.org. It was a Dave Ramsey quote, from 2018. He even goes lower, $180/ visit. I think that’s way off.

Me neither. Hence my reactivating of the extended warranty and not looking back ;-)

Dave is a nice guy, however on this topic in 2020 he is crazy. There is no such thing as a $200.00 repair. We're not talking oil change prices on issues that pop up on all these electronics. So much more can happen costing real money.

Its like going to the casino. The house always wins. Sure you might score big but the average is way in their favor.

You guys know that you can buy a fully refundable Maxcare warranty right?

And it all depends on the vehicle. There are no $400 repairs on the EcoDiesel.

HUH? You reactivated it after cancelling it???

I did... mentioned it on page 2 after reading all of the posts from previous Ram/FCA owners who’ve had to use it multiple times.

You're lucky. they usually process cancellations the same day.
We don't wanna hear it if you cancel again! LOLOLOLOLOL

Ok, poor choice of words, my bad! The cancellation did take effect and they refunded me the money. I then went back and repurchased the same exact plan.

And NO I’M NOT CANCELLING AGAIN! Lol

I was pretty tempted with the fully refundable plan, it was roughly $200 more than the one I got which is not bad at all. But if the warranty is used even just once, it completely voids the money back... and at the rate that stuff has had to be repaired within less than a year of ownership, I’m pretty sure I’ll be using mine more than once.

Not saying it won't happen to me, but my truck has 36,000 miles and zero warranty repairs. This is the place people come to post their problems, looking for help, or to simply be aware of potential problems (this is where I fall). People that don't have issues, rarely have reasons to post. I don't have an extended warranty. Certainly won't knock those that do. It's been my experience that if it's going to break, it usually does so before factory warranties expire. So far, its held true for this truck as well.

You my friend are a lucky dude! I’ve got 4 major warranty repairs in less than one year since new and coming up on 12000 miles.

I indeed am pleased with my purchase. I don't necessarily feel lucky, I'm more inclined to say that you are one of the unlucky customers that every manufacturer has. I sincerely hope that I'm more of the status quo. Hopefully warranty will get your truck straight, or at least you can come out of it, into a more reliable vehicle, relatively whole. Best wishes for all of you that have issues.

I went 5 years without using mine on my Ecodiesel but then decided to buy a new truck so only the standard refund applied. Still awaiting my $369 back from them. And I bought the standard one for my 2020 because there is lots more electronics in the Limited.
