e-Torque generator kit DIY

Has anyone tried to replace the generator kit for 5th gen rams themselves? Some say you have to get it done by ONLY the dealer or someone who can "Re-map" the truck after installation. Truck has been sitting in my driveway for nearly three months. Anything helps.

Your best bet is to get new bearings put in it. That way there is no programming and a lot cheaper. Any generator, starter rebuild person should be able to do it. But, Ron’s auto out of New York has done quite a few.
