Hey everyone just wanted to get your thoughts on ride quailtu and tire pressure from some of you that have switched tires/wheels already. I found with the oem tires i had 37psi which was 1psi above door sticker. Road absolutely amazing and loved it but then i wanted a little bit bigger tires. I kept my wheels and got the XL verison of Nitto g2 in 305/55/20 and they look amazing and fill the wheelwell great. I just cant seem to find the right pressure. It seems like i can feel every bumy and or its like giggle all the times over jut normal streets. The conversion states put 38psi but its bouncy still. Also its balanced correct as no vibrations at all so its not that. Just trying to keep the hopping of the vehicle to stop all the time.

How many miles do you have on the new rubber?

Our new Wrangler handled very sloppy until it had about 800 miles on it. Smoothed right out after that. It has the all terrains on it so they might just need a bit of break in to smooth out.

It has about maybe 500 miles on it now and ok great thanks will try that

Are they load range E... XL? If what I understand that is extra load. 8 or 10 ply.... If that's correct? That equals less flex in side wall. If I remember right (which slips once and awhile) it is going to be a little Ruff, feel all the cracks. Next set maybe see if you can get lighter load range. Remember Chrysler puts best case scenario, tires, load rating, diameter, air amount to get best ride and feel. Any adjustments going to change the scenario.

Thanks for the reply but they are XL rated in which discount tire told me tis still considered 4 ply and max psi is only 50psi so I was just wondering maybe the new suspension they have for the air ride is a little stiff or is it the tires. Any way you know how to lower the pressure in the air suspension or that is something cant be done.

I traded air suspension and wondered how they standard coil suspension compared in my 2019.
I personally think the standard coil has a better ride, control and response. Now the 2019 has a stiffer and sturdier frame that contributes to ride quality and handling. I think your tires are the culprit. Got a friend with a 6,lug wheel, swap out and ride it around awhile. Here's the thing you wanted the best ride quality you should of stayed stock. You were looking for a more aggressive foot print. It probably looks and rides fine. You want to dance you got to pay the fiddler. Go forth don't worry about. This your first Ruff rider? I had a 86 CJ. 4 in lift, 35" tire. Raddled your bones on a concrete highway. Couldn't drive it on pavements with an open container. But I loved every bump. So bottom line it is what it is. Enjoy the bumps.

Call Nitto!!! They will ask for you make/model, size of original tires and they have a calculation they run and will give you the precise pressure.....then you can play with it from there. They gave me the max pressure and I backed it down. Oh.....that's on my current GMC..............my dealership hates my pressure cuz they think it's too high, but I love it. I have 285/55/22 Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 and run 45 psi. I can get away with 42 for a softer ride. Max PSI was 50 front, 53 rear for my GMC. Max sidewall is a whopping 80. Oh, mine are E rated.............and will be the absolute last E rated (10 ply) tire I ever buy. Can't wait for my Longhorn to arrive. XL may be a direction I'll go like you did.........but later.

My buddy has your tires on a 18 King Ranch and he runs like 36-40, but his rims are also 22s
