Anyone else have this one? My door lock bezel is not sitting flush on the door panel. I've tried a million ways to push this thing down and it just won't budge. The dealer wants to replace the door panel and I really don't want anyone hacking on my brand new truck and scratching my door, etc. There has to be an easier way. I was thinking of softening it some with a heat gun to try and push it down but don't want to melt it either.

I hear you. Not a big deal but I can't unsee it and it's what I see every time I approach the truck and get in. Bugs the crap out of me. I guess if you're going to have an issue, that's not a bad one to have and others would gladly trade.

I agree with that much rather have this then some engine clunk or the 12in screen becoming a joke

I don't see any way you are going to solve this without removing the door panel. Looks like they just didn't get it installed all the way but without seeing what's on the other end of it to possibly correct it I don't think you'll get far.
Personally, I'd rather remove a door panel and try to fix it than leaving it to a dealer tech.

I'm with you. This would bug the heck out of my OCD self.

Agreed, that would drive me nuts, On my truck the ambient light sensor on the dash wasn't seated properly but it was simple as pushing it down all the way. If, Ram wants to take the #2 spot from GM they need to step up their fit and finish.

If you are not comfortable removing the door panel and locating the source of the missfit then I would let the dealer order a new one. Its not a tough job to replace the panel and then you have your new truck as you want it.

I had the same thing with one of mine. The push buttons (pins) all had some packaging goo on them which I think may have caused them to push up on the grommets. I cleaned them with Goo Gone, pushed the one stray grommet back in, reinstalled the pins, and haven't had any more problems.

Do the pins just thread on and off?

Yeah, but normal for me, as my commute is about 4 minutes long, so none of my vehicles get optimum MPG.
Upside is that I fill up about once every three weeks or so :p

Cheers,

Sidebar - but I feel your pain. My Ram has become my wife's daily driver and she has a commute similar to yours. I got it in the other day...10.6!
