Does your driver's side mirror whistle?

There's a TSB for that. The whistling sound apparently comes from the temperature sensor door.
Most people seem to complain of whistling when driving above 60mph. Mine does it at 45mph exactly. i have tried reaching out of the window to locate the source of the noise and it stops with my finger over a litle indentation on the bottom.
Well, looks like there is an updated cover for the sensor. I'll post the p/n if I can find one. Otherwise, I'll bring it up when (if ever) I get the trailer controller recall done.

Nice, maybe I can get mine fixed properly now. I got the infamous, could not duplicate when I asked them to check it….

I cut out a small horseshoe like shape piece from the hook side of some black industrial velcro. Matched it up pretty perfectly to the radius around the temp sensor, and it’s on the tail end side. Honestly can’t even tell its there, its been on close to a year, and it fixed the whistle. But I’m looking forward to getting an actual replacement part.

I think I could have chamfered the edge is the same area and accomplished the same thing. I didn’t really want to go carving on a new truck… Hopefully I can have them get me the updated part in order at my next oil change.
