Does topper interfere with 360 or rear camera?

I went to the local Ranch topper dealer and they called Ranch because I had heard there were fitting issues with the Ram and Ranch. Person at Ranch says if there is a camera that protrudes from the third tail light in the back then the Ranch won't work. If it doesn't then it should be fine. I ordered my 2022 Limited 6'4 inch bed a month ago so obviously I haven't received it yet so I don't know. Plus none of the dealers near me have a limited on the lot to go look at. Am I hosed getting a topper and just need to go with the tonneau? Thanks for reading.

I have a 22 1500 longhorn 6’4” with a leer 100XQ and am very happy with it. See pics.

Digital rearview mirror, which includes the CHMSL camera, is part of the Limited Equipment Group 1 for 2022 models. Did you order your truck with this package? If so, you will have this camera.

Yes I ordered the group 1 equipment t group. Where is this camera located? In the tailgate or in the third brake light? I'm totally confused. Thanks

The camera for the digital rear view mirror is located in the 3rd brake light (CMHSL). This version of the CHMSL housing protrudes from the cab more than the "normal" CHMSL housing. Which is why it can affect which toppers you can use.

It's the back-up camera that's located in the tailgate release "handle". Totally separate camera and system to the digital rear view mirror camera.

The only thing that you won’t be able to use is the digital rear view mirror. But, you
will need to clear the 3 rd brake light like my previous pictures showed.

@Ramroo do you mind sharing a pic of your full truck with the cap on it? I’m awaiting a 6’4 Longhorn and will be putting a cap on it and would like to see how it looks. Appreciate it.

Topper choice is limited for the 6'4" bed. When I was looking last summer for a topper I was told at that time that Ranch doesn't make one for the 3rd gen with the long bed. Leer, ARE, and Century were the only ones I found that listed applications for the long bed. I went with a Century and have been happy with it. Century and Leer come out of the same factory and several of their models are identical.

Thanks for your replies. I was afraid of that. Guess it's no big deal not being able to use the digital rear view mirror. Seems like pretty cool technology.

Does your 2022 come with the trailer camera package? Apparently, it adds a hookup on the back bumper for an additional camera (which you’d have to buy from Mopar) for “Tow Mode”. The camera’s feed would appear on your digital rear view mirror.

I’ve got a 2021, and that option wasn’t available that model year. So I’m looking into a way to relocate the camera (not for a cap, but for a bed rack/rooftop tent combo that blocks the camera and CHMSL.
