Do not update

After my initial post in this thread I checked the website for updates again and it said there were none. Then, halfway through a 200 mile round trip I stop to get gas and the truck decides it's a good time to update. It's the one spot to get cell service as it cuts in and out throughout the drive so maybe that triggered it. Either way, sat there for about 10 minutes because I didn't want to drive while it was updating and have it lose service, plus not being able to use anything while it's updating. 10 minutes go by and it's only at like 40% so I said screw it I'm out. While driving it starts turning the speedo on/off and informing me I have a 110v outlet with random flashes of the fog light indicator. So I pull over in a spot where I knew it still had cell service and could finish.

Instantly lost the climate control after it was done. Got that stupid blue and red bar and no indication of what temperature setting I was on anywhere else. So I just factory reset it right there.

I don't know what I was thinking choosing to let it update over wifi but regardless, that setting should mean wifi to a network I select and not whatever crap they are connecting to throughout my drives. I am so tempted to just disconnect everything in relation to the LTE/GPS the truck uses since I don't need it anyways, I use Android Auto on my phone.

So if anyone knows the details of what antenna's to unplug please let me know. If it's as simple as disconnecting the antenna from the back of the center console that would be great. I don't use the trucks crappy Tom Tom GPS anyways so what else is it connected to that would be needed for any other functions?

There is a thread on this forum with fairly recent participation. As I recall there is a bypass cable you can install, just have to remove the radio and upper glove box if I recall. It is definitely on my list of future projects.

Wait I can put my gages and pitch roll on my 12" never even tried it. Maybe cause I don't have vehicle default to bottom area or maybe just I use radio, nav, Android, controls only

Mine updated the other day. It Blue screened the backup camera while I was parallel parking my truck. Great timing.

Took a good drive today after the update two days ago. Still FUBAR.

Seems the next 3 steps will be:

• Soft reset (holding down volume and tuner buttons)
• Hard reset (disconnect battery for 5-10 minutes, and step on brakes for 15 seconds to bleed off any charge)
• Warranty visit to the dealership

Paid attention to the offroad page today after updated last Friday.


not seeing the glitches that others were talking about but i do feel like the gauge page is missing something.
also not sure if the pitch and roll page was any different.

Mine is totally fubar. Keeps cycling screen sizes and randomly restarts. Sometimes load the panes with my apps and other times they are empty. It’s a coin toss if it’s going to do anything or load anything. I turn the power off, and it turns itself back on. Really frustrating.

It's frustrating how they could release such a straight up trash update and not be pressured into finding a hotfix ASAP.

Out of all the vehicles I've owned, RAM has the least amount of online presence and Stallantis definitely doesn't feel the need to move a muscle at much more than a snails pace because of it.

Mine are still screwy a week later. Only have trans temp and voltage for gauges. The rest disappeared.

Also have a Jeep for vehicle icon on pitch/roll. RAM truck is gone. Fricking ridiculous.

Previously I had UC 4 on an 8.4 for 5 years and worked flawlessly with no updates that entire time. Had original software from the factory in 2017.

I'll try a soft reset (reboot) on mine tomorrow when I go out for some aluminum channel and whatever I dream up overnight, stayed home today having fun setting up a gun cart.

Hopefully get a good result on this first-world UConnect problem tomorrow.
