Do not update

Which update is this? I just had one done that was part of a safety recall last Saturday. No issues so far.

Mine evidently completed the update while I was at work today. Went to leave and it had defaulted to one of the profiles that I haven’t set up, took me a minute to realize that and then I selected mine. 5 minutes later I had some of the settings and buttons available. 5 more minutes I had my radio stations back. By the time I got to my destination I had 4 of the PP gauges but still not all of the pages populated. 30 minutes later it appeared that I had everything back. It’s like these updates were designed as a class experiment where no matter what, everyone gets a passing grade.

Mine updated yesterday… while I was driving it finished up. Screen was wonky for a couple minutes, as it was last time.
Stopped to fill up, got back in, started it up.. back to normal.
I noticed when I started it up after filling up CarPlay connected quicker than normal… we’ll see if that holds true going forward.

I got one a few weeks ago and it showed the "strange" temp bars for the seats. I also had the "A" logo show up (for that feature that shuts engine off when it stops), even though my truck doesn't have that feature.

Does Ram post these updates anywhere so we know is expected or when new ones are coming? I find it so odd that it just randomly shows up and installs, otherwise I can never "find" one if I search.

That sure would be nice. I’m annoyed that 3 years of updates on my truck and that still hasn’t been addressed.

Interesting that you noticed your CarPlay connecting quicker, mine seems to take an entire minute or more, which it never did before

Parked at work this morning and shut it off and a 26 minute update started. I just had a 26 minute update a couple weeks ago. Hope this one doesn't screw things up.

wonder if it updates different for different model years? Mine updated , took long but didn t notice anything after the first day so far. Never saw some of the screen shots some posted.

Just came across this thread.

When I got home from a morning errand, got a notice for an update, gave the go-ahead. A little while later, had to turn the truck around, screen said update completed. Clicked "what's new," meh but whatever. Backup camera worked.

Now I'll have to look for any of the above problems on the next drive, maybe I'll head out for some groceries in a bit.

I'll check mine again tomorrow, also will watch here if someone finds a reset/reboot procedure to fix it. Or I will have a 3rd reason to go to the dealer for warranty service.

After my initial post in this thread I checked the website for updates again and it said there were none. Then, halfway through a 200 mile round trip I stop to get gas and the truck decides it's a good time to update. It's the one spot to get cell service as it cuts in and out throughout the drive so maybe that triggered it. Either way, sat there for about 10 minutes because I didn't want to drive while it was updating and have it lose service, plus not being able to use anything while it's updating. 10 minutes go by and it's only at like 40% so I said screw it I'm out. While driving it starts turning the speedo on/off and informing me I have a 110v outlet with random flashes of the fog light indicator. So I pull over in a spot where I knew it still had cell service and could finish.

Instantly lost the climate control after it was done. Got that stupid blue and red bar and no indication of what temperature setting I was on anywhere else. So I just factory reset it right there.

I don't know what I was thinking choosing to let it update over wifi but regardless, that setting should mean wifi to a network I select and not whatever crap they are connecting to throughout my drives. I am so tempted to just disconnect everything in relation to the LTE/GPS the truck uses since I don't need it anyways, I use Android Auto on my phone.

So if anyone knows the details of what antenna's to unplug please let me know. If it's as simple as disconnecting the antenna from the back of the center console that would be great. I don't use the trucks crappy Tom Tom GPS anyways so what else is it connected to that would be needed for any other functions?
