My truck just updated today. Big mistake. The update screws up everything. First, the whole screen showed navigation, but kept flashing. I think they set it up for the 14 inch screen, instead of the 12. None of the lower buttons were there. I couldn't even try to find settings. After a half dozen reboots, The normal screen appeared, but now the different sections jump around, and only part of each section shows. They really screwed the pooch on this update.

Give it a few hours, to overnight, to reset and recommunicate with all the modules

If anything changes, I will update, or remove the post, but no other updates ever did anything like this.

Yep. Sucks to have to do that, but wait it out and see what changes happen overnight while you and your Ram are sleeping.

Mine was a mess this morning...screen jumping around as the upper status bar came and went, no buttons at the bottom, only a red/blue bar instead of temps for climate control, temperature hard buttons not working. Fortunately, it seems to have corrected itself after a couple restarts.

Speakers were acting up after download. only right working.
Just shut the radio off for a while. All is good now.

Controls at top left/right of screen for heated seats and steering wheel are jacked up.


Otherwise seems to be functioning properly.

After reboot heated seats/wheel controls back but CarPlay still won’t connect.

Mine had evidently tried to update when wife and I went out to dinner. Started the truck and saw a message that the update had failed. Definitely need to remove the ota ability, hopefully get that accomplished sometime this year.

Mine tried to do an update a few weeks ago and failed. Last week another update that completed. All I noticed was larger icons for my XM Radio favorites. Now today another update.

Surprised by the update activity the past few weeks. More than I’ve had in the past 3 years combined. Strange thing is I see no changes or improvements worthy of an update. Getting as bad as my iPhone.

Well I finally got an update for the 8.4" and like an idiot I decided to do it. It's been a nightmare since. Screen is constantly stuck on the "accept" screen where I have to acknowledge I'm signing my rights away to drive my truck... my memory seats have never worked properly and it's always losing that function, so I was hoping this would help but it only made other stuff worse.

I asked somewhere else if resetting it to the factory settings will also remove the updates but got no answer. I assume no. And I cannot find any version to roll back to either. No information on manual updates at all or previous versions. The only site that give any information is the one that you input your VIN to check for updates and even when my truck said there was one, that site said it was up to date.

I hate Uconnect. By far the worst out of all the brands I have dealt with. I thought I'd be avoiding some issues getting the 8.4" but it seems like all I did was get a smaller screen.

I see they mention "1. Voice Recognition". Have they added any functionality on this feature? That is, any new commands? For instance, can you use voice command to turn on heated steering wheel??

I never use voice commands so no clue what changed. I feel weird having conversations with my truck.

Mine says error 4 update failed, now my screen turns on and off while driving, doesn’t always pair with phone, or does this loud noise for several seconds before restarting itself. Took to dealer the other day, couldn’t duplicate the issue and they said the software is up to date ….this is my 3rd 5th gen I’ve never had any issues on the others

And of f'in course I do a factory reset so now I get to reconfigure everything.... Stelantis sucks

weird because mine failed to update on its own the other day and then I sat there with ign on engine off and accepted the update.
let it do its thing to install and restart and such, then the next day all is good.

mine's a 22 with UC5 12"

Give it sometime it will go back to normal, I had the same issue but when I checked next morning it was all back to normal.

I got that same message in mine yesterday AM. It’s kinda weird, they just did an OTA not that long ago, I want to say in the past 30 to 45 days. Wonder what was broke that they felt the need to send another update so soon.
