I was adding air to my 2022 Ram 1500 with the $1600 20” chrome wheel package, and it sure looks (and feels) like they have chrome plated plastic hubcaps. Am I completely wrong?

Can you post a picture? I don't know if any Ram comes with hubcaps.

I believe they are called chrome clad. I haven't has them since I think 2013 on my Laramie, but they were some sort of plastic like material clad (covered) with chrome.

The center caps are plastic. As a matter of fact, I don't know of any wheel that comes with metal center caps anymore.

Yes, it is a chromed plastic whole "wheel cover".

Here you go. You can see where the chrome cover and wheel are 2 pieces at the lip. Also visible at v

Looks like steel wheels with chromed plastic hub caps to me. That doesn't seem like it is worth $1600.

That is my thought exactly. At least I got the truck cheap enough. I didn’t really care for these wheels when I bought it, and I like them even less now.

They’ve been doing that for years. My 2013 and 2017 Laramie’s had the same wheels. Never had a single issue with them. Seemed to be high quality plating on them.

The are aluminum wheels with chrome clad covers, they are glued on. Not my favorite but I didn't hate them enough to replace them yet.

my 2003 silverado has them and they have held up great! They are steel wheels with a metal chrome cover attached on. Truck has over 240,000 miles on it

My 2013 Acadia Denali has 20 inch rims like those. Completely junk. Also can't ever repair them or refinish them. Need to be junked and new one purchased if you ever damage them.
Real chrome rims can be redipped and repaired but not this cheap junk.
