Been wanting to make these high clearance rock sliders/ steps for over a year. October took on washed out trail by yosemite and bent to stock steps up and back. Used the factory 3 hangers per side and modified. Attached 1.5 tubing to factory brackets about 1/4 inch below pinch seam. Added support tubes at a nice angle. Bend a nice hoop for a bit more stick out to get access to bed of truck easier. Got them painted up yesterday and installed. Super happy with them

Very nice, may I suggest you throw some grip tape on the stepping edges? It looks like they can get a little slippery.

Did some 2inch wide grip tape. It's good but can grabe your calf on way out. Maybe just 1inch on top would be better

Nice, but hate to break it to you that they will not offer the protection for offroad use when mounted to body like you did.

For sliders you want to mount it to the frame so when you hit/ tap the sliders the force will be distributed onto the frame, which is a lot more stronger than the cab already.

On the other hand, when you mount these "sliders" to the body, the impact will only be distributed to the cab/ body. If the impact is hard enough, you will break the body studs that you use at best, and damage the body/ cab at worst.
