Did you know if your truck was built before July 2018 it might not be as safe as trucks built later?

It isn’t as if the truck isn’t safe, it’s just that the newer “if you will” is “rated” safer. Products go through design changes mid-cycle all the time.

100% agree, not only safety changes but little aesthetic design changes/upgrades as well (for instance hubbys earlier Big Horn build, no ports/110 in rear) it would be GREAT if every time they did any kind of mid cycle change, they made an available option for "current owners of the SAME year/model" to receive free upgrade, but sadly that is never ever going to happen.

Mid year refreshes happen with every sort of piece of tech i can think of, and usually only options for the "early adopters" are just left to feel miffed or purchase the refreshed item at a loss.

Not saying its right or fair, but WHAT IS these days?! lol With the way companies are churning out everything at "warp speed" to be the first, newest, and best,", ts a NEW mindset the consumer HAS to have if they are going to enjoy (without regret) the items that they purchase.

I would not trust the exact July date presented by a poster as "authoritative". Who knows who at IIHS wrote the email? What are their credentials and title? Did they mistype the date? etc.

Without an official statement from Ram of IIHS, all we know is the IIHS test data applies to trucks built from August 2018 on.

Was the redesign to correct a minor or severe problem? Again, without an official statement from RAM or IIHS, we do not know.
