Did my 2” Readylift level get installed right?

Just got my truck back today after the local off-road shop installed the 2” Readylift leveling kit, with UCA’s. The truck looks level and seemed to drive fine on the way home but when I took a look it’s looks like a rubber bushing is being squeezed out. Almost like a marshmallow does when making s’mores. I have attached the picture I took and circled what I think looks funky (you can see the 2” aluminum strut extension right above it).

Does that look right? Anyone with the same kit seeing the same thing? I hope I’m just being paranoid. Ha.

I don't have the kit, but there is NO WAY that is right. Looks like the shop will be buying some new parts and redoing the job FOR FREE.

That’s basically how mine look as well, and I do have a preload spacer.

What's crazy is that both sides look exactly the same. If the shop installing them did take the strut assembly apart on the first one, before realizing they made a mistake, I would think only one side would look messed up. If it was like that to begin with (and I never noticed it), then I would hope it's not a big deal and wont cause any issues down the line. I also emailed Readylift and included the picture. Hoping they get back to me soon.

I think it’s just an isolator to separate the two metal pieces so they don’t create vibrations, but I don’t know that for sure.

Here is a photo from the ReadyLift website. Looks like mine above but different from some others who have shared their pics. Does the plot thicken further?

On yours, I think this rubber piece is on top of this spacer? I assume from what I’ve seen on the other pics in this thread.

readylift has two different kits, a strut spacer on top (OP) and a preload Style inside the strut itself (this/yours)

This is from the procomp kit instructions... so looks like it’s right in terms of where it’s placed.

Forgot the OP has the top strut spacer and doesn’t even a preload so then his is like that stock then? Seems strange.

That procomp one is not all deformed looking in the instructions.

Here’s the readylift Instruction photo, it looks similar to ours. Kind of mangled.

So it looks like you have the 2" strut spring pre-load spacers which I believe is different then the 2" top mount strut extension spacers that come with the kit that includes the upper control arms? Do you know which kit you installed? I could be wrong that is what they look like when you compare the two kits on their website.

Readylift sent me a reply today. Here is what I got back from them:

"This kit does not require strut disassembly, meaning that the rubber isolator was already that way prior to the install. I personally would not worry about it if it were my truck, but you can always return the vehicle to the shop for an inspection. The rubber isolators often look this way because of the tension on the strut."

I'm due for an oil change soon, I think im just going to have the dealer take a look the next time I go in. For what it's worth, the truck doesnt ride or feel any different since the leveling kit went on. Rims and tires come in next week, cant wait for those to go on!

Yep, you nailed it. I thought I bought the kit but went through the dealer and they didn’t specify what exactly was ordered and installed. I thought I got the kit w/ UCA but the part # on the invoice and the prices matches the pre-load spacers on the ReadyLift website. Thanks for the education and sorry to hijack the thread o_O

Yes your kit is fine. when the top hats are installed the struts are tuned a bit to line up the top bolts so you will see the ugly side of the strut. mine looked that way with 1000 miles before i put the kit in.

Well that explains why mine doesn’t look like this, I had the kit with the UCAs installed
