Deployable running boards safety retract when parking next to a curb?

Does anyone know if the automatic deployable side running boards have an automatic retract feature If you park next to a curb or parking lot island and your suspension is in the entry exit mode and they end up making contact with the curb. Will they continue to try to extend and eventually break something or Do they since the resistance and automatically fold back in? Would hate to see a curb scuff them up or break a gear in the motor

I do know they will stay deployed if there is resistance closing.

I saw a YouTube video a while back showing they will retract if there is resistance. Open the door and stick your foot in front and find out

When they bump my leg, they reverse and retract.....
