Trying to decide on a "Bug Deflector" ...... Tell me..... Should I get the Mopar 82215475...or the Aeroskin 622163?
The Aeroskin looks more like a decoration and sticks directly to the hood with 3M tape. The Mopar version looks like is mounts AWAY from the hood....
Are they BOTH car wash friendly?
I can see that he Aeroskin version would be flush mounted and not affected by car wash brushes, but it doesn't appear to be a "deflector."
The Mopar version looks like it would have "deflecting" capabilities, but might not survive a brush type car wash.......

I value your opinions! Thank You!!

Mopar is more solid than any other deflector I have ever owned.

However, with any deflector I still suggest touch less followed by hand-wash... your paint will thank you as well.

I have the Mopar matte black deflector and like it a lot. I usually don’t run my vehicles thru automatic car washes with the brushes, but I did today, and the deflector survived just fine.

I had deflector on my Outdoorsman when I had it, the snow and ice get trapped behind it in the winter. After the first winter I took it off and got the whole front end PPF'd. When I got my Rebel I had it PPF'd too, a lot cheaper than my Outdoorsman as the Rebel front end is half powder coated and PPF won't stick to it.

I had the MOPAR on my truck and took it off and replaced it with the WeatherTech. I like the OEM color but the plastic is thin and I do not like having the brackets attached to the hood and seeing the exposed screws. The WT attaches under the hood using plastic clips similar to the OEM clips. No drilling...no 3M tape. I am extremely happy with my WT and anyone that wants my OEM can have it for $20 plus shipping. All hardware comes with it and unit is in mint condition.

I went with the weathertech as well because it uses the same holes under the hood weatherstrip to secure it. My issue with 3M tape mounting is that if there are any gaps, such at corners or bends, dirt, bugs and all matter of crap gets trapped inside. My Camaro's spoiler is bolted to the trunk with 3M as backup. When I replaced it, there was a mess inside of the spoiler between the 3M seams. I'll never 3M tape if there's gaps in the installation.

I have the Mopar matte black deflector on my Rebel. I put it on in October before I moved out of Montana, and it held up well to some pretty brisk temps (much colder than anything I've seen in Maryland so far, anyway). I also have been through MANY all-brush carwashes with ridiculous turbo-jet blow dryers at the end, and its still just as secure as when I first put it on.
The only thing I wish I would have donedifferently is invert the self adhered cone-bumpers. I stuck them on per the assembly instruction in that they are adhered to the hood and the "point" touched the deflector. I should have adhered them to the deflector and had just the point touching the hood.

I did the same with respect to the cone bumper stops, George. But I don’t guess it’s a big deal. I’m liking the OEM deflector deflector.

Also added the Carven ceramic black exhaust tips last Saturday. A few pics.

Where did you find it for so cheap?

Is it the matte black or chrome finish?

I like the Mopar one, I had xpel put on the front of my hood so I don't really need one to protect the hood.
