Deadline for ordering 2021 models

I just got back from speaking with my local dealership about placing an order. I was informed that they are three weeks out from taking orders for 2022's, and they have to check to see if they can take an order for a 2021 anymore. This is the first I've heard of this, and is about three months earlier than usual. Has anyone else been caught wind of this?

That's what I told the sales rep. He spent about 30 minutes with his manager, on and off the phone with FCA trying to find out for sure. He said they could try to send in an order today, but he wasn't sure if it would go through or not. I told him I'd wait for 3 weeks and see if I can order a 2022. I'm not really in a hurry, but I wasn't wanting to wait until mid-summer to order if I didn't have to.
