Have a 3500 Diesel that I bought 6 weeks ago, brand new. Went out for work and it was dead. Called dealership and they told me it was probably a "battery issue" and to try jumping it. Truck had only been sitting for 4 days and was dead. Did that and finally got it to start. Now my 360 surround view cameras will not work. Any thoughts? Anyone else having battery issues with theirs?

I apologize for the trouble you are experiencing, @srjoe1. If this is something you end up having to address with your dealer, please do not hesitate to follow up with us via private message for an additional layer of support through that process.

Ramcares doesn't care if you live in Canada. There's little support if you live outside of the US.

This is my 5th consecutive dodge pickup but Im extremely frustrated with some of the unresolved electronic gremlins. I regret trading my old truck in!

Something to consider if you're shopping for a new truck.

It could just be the battery. My other vehicle, only gets used once or twice a week. I replaced it's battery in February, it is a 2009. Until the very old battery died, it would always start regardless of how long it sat. I think diesels may be harder to crank but that should be accounted for in the size of the battery. I would not give up on the truck until I was sure it was more complicated than a bad battery.

I don't know about the 360 degree camera but if the battery gets too low on voltage it can affect other things. You might also want to ask your dealer to check the parasitic load - current with the truck "off". It never goes to zero on modern cars but if it is too high it could explain a battery dying. You can also check it yourself with the right multi-meter. It's been while since I checked it on a car but I think you just disconnect the battery and put the meter in series with it and read the current.
