So, I’d been considering several different mods for my truck for some weeks, and all the while there was this voice in the back of my mind saying…

Finally, I decided to ask this voice, “Alright but…which ones?”

FYI I had some Revel leveling links on for like 24 hours but took em off. Ride went to s**t. My skull was playing pingpong with the headrest. Was up less than an inch in the front (down about an inch and quarter in the back to get level) and that's all it took. So I won't be bothering with a lift/level unless I decide to go all out at some point (links, spacers, UCA's, 20 inch wheels down from 22's, bigger tires).

Any questions, let me know!

It looks like the McGard black chrome lug nuts would be a perfect match for the Limited Night Edition wheels.

What’s the level of DIY skill required and cost of the Hellwig?

Did you install the Daystar spacers along with the links? I’ve got a set of links and spacers, waiting for the Rebel to arrive. But I’ve been a bit on the fence as to whether I should put them on.

Since I can see you’re a Star Wars fan, you also need one of these.

No, I tried it with just the links cause I'm too scared to mess with disconnecting the air sus to get the spacers on. My local shop guy doesn't have any experience with the air sus, and my dealer hasn't given me a straight answer on wether they will do it. I can wait.

Was very easy. I did that and the bulbs myself, exhaust and tires/lugs was my local shop guy, Airflow was my dealer. So my truck got love all around 😁

Airflow looks sick. Notice any chance with sound or performance?

Thanks, it really does! I love how much more of the engine you can see.

And YES actually, quite noticeable.

I can't tell you what it would have been like with the stock exhaust because the Magnaflow went on a few weeks before the Airflow. I can tell you that while the Magna sounded (sounds) really nice, I didn't notice any increase in pick-up or MPG's.

HOWEVER, with the Airflow on, pick-up is just a tiny bit quicker (like 5%, would maybe translate into a tenth of a second on a 0-60, if that), shifting/acceleration is smoother, and I can get the same MPG's going 10-15 MPH faster, and improved somewhere around 2-3 overall, depending on speed. I did not except that much of a difference but it's for real.

I've seen a lot of back and forth on this topic, and from my now personal experience I can tell you, the people saying that an aftermarket exhaust (with better flow and a less restrictive muffler and no resonators) COMBINED with a ram air type system that pulls a larger volume of air straight into the engine (the stock intake had an elbow) absolutely makes a difference.

Did I gain 25hp? No. Did I gain 10? Maybe. But the smoother acceleration and increased fuel economy is very real.

Could probably have gotten similar results from a cheaper CAI but it wouldn't look nearly this cool, oh, and sound this mean.

The Magna has a very deep, clean growl. Sort of "cavernous". The Airflow basically makes the "cavern" bigger.
