I'm new here and strongly considering a 2025 Limited purchase. Love the truck but VERY nervous about being an early adopter with HO Hurricane powertrain.

Talk me into it! Or out of it!

I'm coming from a '24 Tundra. Great truck with some shortcomings. Concerned my model year will be eventually included in the engine recall. Don't want to get stung twice.

The deals on 1500's right now are very compelling.

Thank in advance for your input!

I was a Toyota guy (last one being an 2006). Moved on to Ram in 2014, 2017, 2019, 2022, and now a Night Limited 2025. I've loved every one and never looked back. Luxury vehicles with all the power and towing you need.

I just traded my (2020) Limited for a 25 Rebel. Limited was awesome but the air suspension really limits the lift/level options and I wanted a truck I felt more comfortable taking off the highway. Also grew tired of the 22” wheels.

I bought a 2020 Limited in June 2020. I ordered a 2025 Limited in December and expect to pick it up next week as it is sitting in a rail yard waiting for transport to a dealer 400 miles from me that I will drive to go and get it. I drove 500 miles each way to pick up my 2020 Limited. I put over $8,000 of mods and tweaks on my 2020. I do not have my 2025 yet, but I have purchased over $6,000 of mods and tweaks for it (in addition to the ones I have removed from my 2020 that fit my 2025), which are all in boxes in my garage, waiting for the new Limited to appear for installation. Does that tell you enough? If not... I love that darn 2020, and I am positive I will love that darn 2025.

I bought a 23' Ltd specifically cause' I'm not in the "early adopter beta tester" crowd.
While forums such as this can be overly negative, it seems like there's a few too many reported issues with the 25's for me to be comfortable recommending that you take the plunge.

I'd wait for a 26' MY if I really wanted a Hurricane powered 1500. Maybe they will have the electrical issues sorted out by then. What % are having the reported CEL and electrical issues as compared to what has been produced is a good question.

If you go ahead, be sure to check the big discount dealers (peeps are reporting 16-20% off MSRP) and get a factory extended warranty.

Thanks for the feedback. I've negotiated a very strong deal on a Limited (16% off, no dealer adds) and a good trade on the Tundra which is over market value. Ram pricing is just strange, with inflated MSRP's but lots of backend money. I'm happy with the deal, just deciding whether to pull the trigger.

I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. My Tundra is an early '24, meaning it was produced in late '23 and I'm hearing from good sources that it will likely be included in the recall. So I don't have much in the way of confidence in the truck. Don't like Ford or GM, so Ram is really the only other choice and the Hurricane is new.

I've seen predictions that Ram will be offering up to 35% off MSRP in the near future. I don't know if that will happen or not, but in looking at local CDJR dealership lots I'm seeing a ton of new trucks that have been sitting for weeks. If I was looking to buy now I'd wait a couple months to see what they do with pricing unless I needed something right now. The wife and I have four vehicles between us so I don't see that being an issue for us LOL.

If your Tundra gets a new motor that should be a selling point. I'd wait.
16% off isn't all that high right now.
You might be going from one truck with a probable (positive) recall to another with issues and no recall as of yet.
Up to you.

Buy the Tungsten over Limited....(had 2020 Limited)

Mark Dodge as the dealer...$74K....plus offered top dollar on trade...$212 doc fee and $4 transfer tag plus tax/tag....

1300 miles and my Tungsten phenomenal truck...no issues getting 18MPG...great experience thru Mark and truck rides great, upgraded interior bigger leather seats and the sound system off the charts...if you sit in the back seat with the speaker at your knees watch out....blows u away...

Hurricane no lag...Hemi major lag when hitting the pedal..Hurricane quiet...barely notice engine running when idling. 33 gallon standard tank another 100 miles per tank...fewer trips to the gas man.

Not that anyone should have to, but you can fix that lag in the Hemi with a Pedal Commander or Sprint Booster.

I'm going to see a Tungsten again today. I test drive one the other day and for some reason I found the seats to be too firm and uncomfortable vs the Limited. Must be an adjustment issue. MSRP $89k, I'm pretty sure I can get this dealer to $74k.

Most of the issues with the 2025s and Hurricanes have more to do with new canbus architecture and software bugs than mechanical. The engine itself seems to be pretty good. Has been used for two years now in the Jeep Grand Wagoneers.

Tungsten has message seats and those plates in the seats I would suspect are what you feel...I had same impression at first. Make sure to turn the message feature on and feel it extend to your back....then turn off to feel the plates relax back into the seats to make sure.

It's massage, not message. I normally wouldn't have said anything except you made the same mistake twice in your two sentence response. :)

Limteds also have massage seats so that's not the issue

Autocorrect isn't selective on when it works

Been driving my Longhorn Limited for 5 months and 8500 (s)miles.....ZERO issues. And I have the JB4 performance tuner installed......again, ZERO issues. My previous two (most recent) RAMS were Longhorn's, so I'm just partial to the western/Texas style interior trim level. The HO engine has been out for a couple years now.....and the smaller and lighter engine up front changes the entire unsprung weight of the front end....everything just feels lighter, granted the truck still comes in at almost 6,000 lbs empty. Mileage has been decent/as advertised as well....so long as you're not mashing the accelerator. Been driving RAM's/Dodge trucks since the early 90's. Yeah, I've had to replace trannys and normal wear and tear items....but that's normal for any vehicle you drive and put miles on. Pull the trigger, you won't regret it. It's the quietest, smoothest (and fastest!) NEW vehicle I have ever owned.....and I've owned a lot of vehicles in my 64 years!!! Kept my 2012 RAM 2500 Cummins with 245,000 miles....fully deleted, which is why I'm keeping it. I would never buy a Toyota....again.....not going to get into it here on this RAM forum. Enjoy the (s)miles!!!

Buys HO (yes I know its standard) and says something about “not mashing the accelerator” 😮🤣🤣🤣

I’d be getting wayyyy too many speeding tickets with that motor. 😮

Purchased my 2025 Tungsten in late November. Have about 5k miles so far with no major issues (other than the inability of the dealer to configure a second keyfob). Engine is a beast, sound system is amazing, and interior is unsurpassed. My seats felt a little firm at first, but I adjusted the lumbar settings which helped a great deal. The lumbar settings showed up in a software release a few weeks ago. The settings can be found under the "Comfort" settings!
