Hello,

I found this forum as I was looking up concerns I have with my 2019 Ram 1500 Crew cab. I purchased my truck in July of 2018 and love the truck so far. But I have been noticing a few things after owning the truck for almost a year with only 9k miles on it. I'm sure there are many posts on here with regards to the same issues I am seeing but figured I would put something out there for updated comments. Concerns I have.....
  1. Paint defects from factory and paint issues-
    • Paint bubbles where fenders meet the truck
    • Some areas appear to have hard metal sharp bumps. Almost like they painted over metal shavings
    • Found an area where it looked like the paint cracked and then they put the clear coat over it
    • Bed scratches easily. haven't really put more in the bed than trash bags and some lightweight stuff but you could swear I was loading bricks in the thing. Outside of bed seems to scratch easily as well
  2. Speaker issues-
    • When I am on the phone via bluetooth speaker, the call is very staticky and distorted
    • The dealer didn't seem to find anything wrong
  3. Breaks-
    • Each time I drive the truck for the first time each day, I hear a squeaking sounds almost like the breaks are wet. Not metal on Metal but wet. Even at times it has been dry for days
  4. Dash Display-
    • Where my dash displays the digital speedometer, it used to be all white. Now it's half white and half light brown like there is a discoloration or lighting issue in the dash
    • Dealer thought this may be normal but I could have sworn it was all white before.
I would be curious if anyone else is having these issues???

For your #3 above. If you are having squeal or vibration groaning grinding sound. Per TSB 05-001-19 the repair should be done on any vehicle built before September 24,2018 that exhibit these symptoms. Take it to your dealer to get the rear brakes replaced for free with the new design.

I had the brake squeal, got the TSB done.. and they still squeal like crazy when its cold and wet in reverse starting up..

Mine used to squeal when cold and especially in reverse. I had to wait 5 weeks for the dealership to get in the new designed brakes but in the 2,500 miles since they don't do it anymore. They did have some confusion at first and were trying to replace them with "New" old design stock. Hopefully they didn't pull a fast one on you and give you new brakes that were the old design in stock.

For #4, if your truck has NAV the driver instrument cluster supports themes which change colors, fonts, and background texture. With some themes the speed readout is solid white; with others it's a gradient from white to a light yellowish brown.

There's also a bug (much bemoaned on these forums) where theme settings don't stick. My guess is that when you got the truck someone had changed the theme but it reverted back to the default one.

Great info. I'll take it to the dealer to get new brakes put on. Thank you

Awesome. I did not know you could change themes on this. that makes sense as it is more of a gradient from white to a yellowish brown. I'll have to look at how these settings can be changed.

The brake noise is a well know issue....complain to the dealer and tell them you want it FIXED...NOT greased or adjusted

I am sorry to hear you're continuing to experience concerns. Would you happen to know what TSB was performed? It has been updated quite a few times so my team and I are trying to monitor if customers are still having concerns with the newest TSB.
