Starting to finally get rid of the little bits of chrome. Going to debadge the ram and the 4x4 on the sides and get rid of big horn and 4x4 on the back, along with a black rams head. Hasn't come in yet but these did, I love the look.

that is why I got the Black edition.. I had a 12 Ram sport, but to me, way too much chrome.....

I agree... too much chrome. I have the Sport package and it has too much in my opinion. Probably won't do much about it though.

Those came out good! I'm familiar with plasti dip, used it a lot, but I never did whole wheels.

I have never used Plasti Dip, but will probably be trying it out on my wheels. I am leaning towards the Anthracite color with glossifier. Will also do the badges to match.

The best advice I can give for badges is be very patient and get yourself some long skinny toothpicks to get the dip from inside letters and such. I was going to go that route, but I went with OEM black badges from Amazon. Way more pricey but no mess and looks perfect.

Did you take the wheels off to do them? I’m thinking about plastidiping mine as well.

Didn't remove the wheels. I used playing cards around the rim, and to cover the lug nuts. I also put plastic bags into the spaces to prevent spraying the rotor and caliper. Four coats of black Plasti Dip and then 1 coat of the Glossifier. It took 2 cans of black to cover all 4 wheels.

I would go with black, but I would like to see what the badges look like color matched to the wheels.

Plasti dip sends a plastic toothpick type thing for detailed clean up. Regular toothpicks would work too. I play a Manufacturing Engineer at work, so attention to detail is second nature. Would like to try to do the tailgate Ram badge in two tone without removing it, this may prove to be difficult.

Finally got some pics of the tailgate and full side pics. Looks so much cleaner. Just need some black wheels and some dark taillights 20190419_062538.jpg 20190419_062556.jpg

you can always paint the chrome lettering to minimize it...
If it wasn't for the wheels and mirrors, i probably would. Might do the ram badge on the tail gate, and the 1500 badges.

Just my opinion but plasti dip is garbage. It may be ok for badges but if you are going to do it, do it right and either get new wheels or have them professionally painted or powder coated. If you don’t apply it right it is a PIA to get it off and if you ever need a wheel repair done and it is plasti dipped most wheel repair companies won’t touch it.
