For those of us in the colder climates, how long are you (or are you) warming up your engines and transmissions before driving them or putting them under a load? Anyone paying attention to the temps before driving off?

Like others have experienced here a 5th gen won’t fit in my garage so she lives outside...

Modern engines and fluids don’t require a “warm up”. It will warm up quicker driving than idling, idling is terrible for gas motors and modern (post 07 diesels).

Just idle a couple min for the seats and wheel to heat up.

The "warm up" is for me and clearing the glass of ice/snow. It's not for the drivetrain.

My truck also lives outside.

Mine does too as I can’t close the garage door or move around the truck with it in there. For me 3-5 min is good enough to get it drive ready, but lowest we have been so far is 19 degrees.
