Currently at 1900 miles on a new Rebel. I got a new scan tool by BlueDriver since I have a rumble/stumble at around 15 seconds after a cold-start high-idle startup which lasts only a few seconds. Awesome truck, this is my only issue/symptom, and no CEL, but I wanted to scan to see for myself. Here are my codes (not sure if these codes are related).

U0155-Lost Communication With Cluster/CCN
U0402-Invalid Data Received From TCM
U145D-Implausible Data Received From TCM On D-PT
B15A1-Media Port 1 Connection

Wondering what these could be. The dealer said that they found these codes when scanning my truck but without a CEL or any TSB specific codes they cant apply any TSB. Apparently my codes dont match with any TSB, only my stumble symptom above. I am not happy the dealer didnt offer to do any further inspection and offer the RSU or Rapid Service Updates which I heard about here.

Ive read alot to find out about others codes here in some misfire posts or fuel injector discussions, but thought Id put this one out there to see if any others are experiencing this and have the same codes.

I don't know exactly, the dealer told me only that they were stored codes. After my visit, at home I deleted the codes with my BlueDriver but then they appeared again right away.

Update here I tried to clear the codes and also reset the computer by disconnecting the main battery but I found that the electronics in my vehicle still functioned with the main battery fully disconnected for an hour. I'm not sure if I reset anything but I wanted to throw that out there, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to reset the computer given that the main battery doesn't seem to do much on disconnect. Note truck was fine after the main battery disconnect. I am a little nervous to unhook both batteries now, not sure what the little battery is for at this point.

both batteries need disconnected.

there is a bulletin for this too. I had the bulletin reprogramming done and the cold start misfire seemed to be resolved. Don't have the bulletin number on hand but found out about it in this or the dodge forum.

update... TSB 18-071-24

Thank you for that, I searched but can't find my particular codes anywhere yet in the TSBs, but the symptom is there without a CEL. I'm thinking to see if the battery thing helps clear the stores coded and under what condition the codes return.

So is it safe to disable both batteries? Is there an order to which should he disabled first etc?

pull both grounds. but the TSB was applied to mine with no CEL.. it says if the customer complains in the bulletin. its also states build on dates.

I notice on cold starts my truck has the stumble at some point. I could probably time it and it would happen at the same exact time every time. Only lasts a quick second, but if I am in the truck, not only can I hear it stumble but also feel it with a shudder.

Interesting it's exactly what I'm experiencing. How many miles do you have on the truck?

Without going out to look at the odometer, I believe I am right around 3800 miles.

I just finished my Rebel's first road trip over the long weekend from San Antonio to El Paso, hauling with my Ram Box's filled up with tools, and approx 400 load in the bed, no issues or codes. Just that stumble on cold start otherwise, a great trip with lots of power, averaged 17.3 mpg at 75-80mph over a 500+ mile journey, one fill up in Fort Stockton after 20 gallons of fuel consumed out of my 33 gal tank. I was worried I'd find an issue but non so far. Will be returning to San Antonio a week from today so will be keeping a close watch. I'm starting to feel that the stumble could be something similar to a characteristic of the truck much like the long idle time at cold start, but will still be taking it back to the dealer to talk about the module updates available for the computer.

Side note, the truck looks great and handles so well with a load, I've started to care less about getting a level and tire now since it sits just right and looks evenly proportioned stock. If anything I think my first mod will be the retractable mopar steps from the southwest package I've seen on the new Laramie.

Edit: my trip was actually 495 miles one-way and sitting at 2395 miles on the odometer.

Even though I don't like the stumble, I do believe that it is a characteristic of the truck. It seems to happen at the same exact time on every cold start, so I the computer is making a change or something is starting up to cause the motor to make a change. I'm starting to believe that it isn't something that is wrong, but probably something that should have been tuned differently to make it less noticeable with the motor. I'm currently at 4300 miles, and I had it at the dealership last week and they checked it for misfire codes and said that it didn't have any.

Well just completed my 10 day trip and the odometer is at 3260 miles back home in the driveway. I covered approx total of 1360 miles. Happy to report no issues on long sustained driving at 75-85 MPH and averaged 17.4 mpg and some points in time of stop and go. The stumble I noticed was actually not so noticable at cold starts at the higher elevations and cold weather to the point I thought it was gone, but could still feel it a tad. I am sure its just engine characteristic that @RedFred mentioned too. I was only able to run up to 91 octane on the whole trip and I did my best to run chevron techron gas this time instead of shell which was my usual before the trip. On return home, I waited until my tank got to the fuel indicator warning light, and filled up again with regular chevron unleaded and a bottle of techron fuel additives. Truck is running just the same today with the regular unleaded gas.

I purchased my truck in over 100 degree weather originally, and have been wondering if I should have been running cleaner gas during that period, and during the initial break in phases removing any sediments or gunk that could have been built up. My hunch is that the vehicles that sit on the lot the longest before sale are not only the cheapest being sold, but also the ones with issues from having sat too long - like battery drain issues, and possible fuel injector issues from the low quality money saver dealer gas (which mine has a septic tank thing full of 'free' gas that they keep tanks filled to less than a gallon with). At this point, Im going to be running chevron gas with techron as much as possible and then do some periodic additives just to be sure that everything is clean.

In the coming weeks ill be going in for my first oil change and rotation, will get the codes looked at, and hopefully cleared, let's see what the dealers say about them.

Shell is considered top tier gas so nothing wrong with Shell either. Shell is the closest gas station to my house, so I almost always fill up there.

Update here, I took her in for the first oil change since I have another trip to El Paso over the holidays. I asked the techs to scan and apply any applicable PCM updates.

An RSU was identified by their wiTECH2 scan: Rapid Service Update (RSU) 24-142 / TSB 18-071-24 REV. B

After getting the RSU applied, happy to report no mode stumble on cold start! Truck still high idles until warmed up enough, but thats all. Three cold mornings now and no stumble on cold start, so hopefully this is what it seems. Truck seems to shift faster than before and has a bit more 'pep'. In stop and go city traffic she is very smooth now too. Unfortunately I didnt get their scan report because I was in a rush to get home.

I have those same codes and when I try to clear they just come back right away as well. Not sure what’s that about.

What scanner are you using? I read somewhere here that the aftermarket scanners are not accurately reading and displaying codes. The 2025's need the wiTECH system the dealers use to clear codes which requires a software license and a node locked Mopar Diagnostic Pod or Micropod2 OBD device. We can still get this as aftermarket mechanics, but I'm not paying thousands of dollars when I'm under warrenty still! I'm hoping AlfaOBD comes through on their work, but I'm certain the BlueDriver I am using is showing bogus codes because it simply can't properly read and interpret them or even clear anything on the new 2025's.

I bought the same truck in New Braunfels in November 2024 and after 500 miles got the same codes and more. Took it back to Blue Bonnett dodge and they kept the truck for 84 days. Had to open a Ram Customer Care case to get the truck repaired since the dealership never once contacted me with a status or return my calls. The mechanic tightened an exhaust clamp, replaced the 14" radio, and replaced both batteries. Got the truck back on February 26 2025 and less than 48 hours latter same problems and codes appeared. I get the warning of "4wheel drive overheating", the vehicle shutters when down shifting, and now I get codes P05BD, C121A, C0609, U0155, B1609, B2204, B0010-13, B0011-13, B0012-13, U0402, U145, B15A1, C1477-4B, U0080, U1057, C10C6-92, C10C6-11, and B21DD-84. Pretty sure the truck is possessed and plan on taking it to a priest to get it fixed. The good news is Ram Customer Care ensured I got a replacement vehicle to use and reimbursed all payments.

That sucks, maybe take it to Boerne Dodge instead, they have knowledgeable mechanics that don’t F around. I almost bought from Bluebonnet since they were selling lifted 25’s with ready lift 3” kits and 35” tires lining the front lot of their dealership, and when test driving they were rubbing hard on simple left turns. I had to pull over with the rep and saw that instead of putting the proper size wheels and offset they were cutting the front bumpers to force in 35” tires (well their 3rd party upfit company probably did the work). We got back to the lot and compared to find bumper and trim is a bit different on 25’s than 24’s I’ll give them credit, but they were allowing this across all their new trucks and making ugly cuts that wasn’t solving their issue. I decided to go to Boerne instead and was glad I did, I fully trust that dealer to make good choices for my truck, so far so good.
