I’m going to make a spare room into a cigar lounge.Yeah, our cigar lounge is my favorite room in the house. I definitely recommend it for the cold months!![]()
How about just a box fan and an open window lol?I’m going to make a spare room into a cigar lounge.
I am trying to figure out the ventilation. It will be upstairs, I assume the best exhaust fans are in ceiling and out the roof, with wall switch?
Do you also run a smoke eater or air purifier?

Sorry, I missed this post. It’s a little late for giving you any ideas since yours is complete, but may help out someone else. My lounge is in a basement bedroom. I removed one pane of glass from the window and installed an exhaust fan in its place. It’s the type of exhaust fan an automotive body shop might use. It moves a lot of air. That’s important in keeping any cigar odors from getting to the rest of the house. But the key piece is the oxidizer we run after using the lounge. The only issue with our setup is the fan is loud. We can still watch TV if we want but the volume is turned up lol.I’m going to make a spare room into a cigar lounge.

You can use window fans or box fans, but I’ve found that they don’t really move enough air. And are only really useful if you sit right in front of it.
Honestly you’re better off with an ozone generator than a purifier like the Rabbit. The biggest advantage is there are no filters to clean or purchase. The price of an ozone generator is significantly less than a Rabbit. And the fact that there is no portable air purifier that’s as effective at eliminating cigarette smoke smell. Of course, there’s always a downside. And with ozone generators it’s the fact that you don’t want anyone in the room when it’s running. But it clears quickly if you need to use the room again Right away. I only have to run mine for 15 minutes to completely eliminate the smoke odors. Another benefit is it will remove smoke smell from clothing if you put it in the room before turning the ozone generator on. Mine is very similar to this one…The hard part of my lounge is done. It’s an upstairs bedroom that I exhaust the air thru the ceiling and out the roof with a fantech inline exhaust fan in the attic with a variable speed wall mounted switch that can go up to 1267 cfm. Pretty quiet also.
The electric is from the panel on a dedicated breaker but I had to go thru walls and floors with the wire. Looking back I should gone out the wall to outside of back of house and down and back in wall at the panel.
I still need to buy the portable air purifier. I’m going to get a rabbit air. They are still over $600 with military discount, but they are good. They totally get rid of all smoke smell with all the layers of filtration including carbon. There are some much cheaper China ones however.

Just be sure to bring in an equal amount of fresh air too. Otherwise, you might not be ventilating just making noise and stinking up the house. How about just a box fan and an open window lol?
When I was in my garage exhausting out the widow I cracked my garage door.Just be sure to bring in an equal amount of fresh air too. Otherwise, you might not be ventilating just making noise and stinking up the house.
Haha, that’s what I thought at first. Until we tried it. I mean it’s up to you, but I will say there’s no debate in my mind about which is better for getting rid of cigar smoke smell. The Rabbit will purify the air pretty well. But the ozone generator will rid everything in the room of smoke odors. There’s really no comparison. Spend hundreds on a Rabbit if you want. Or you could spend $50 on an ozone generator. The Rabbit air does have a negative ion generator that helps clean the air and emit safe levels of ozone.
I think it is debatable that just an ozone generator is better than a quality air purifier with an ion generator and advanced carbon filtration. The filters can last over a year running full time.

I’ve had this cigar lounge for several years now. When we have guests over and show them the cigar lounge they are amazed that they can’t even smell it when standing right outside the door. I predict that smoke odors will make it into other areas of your home with the Rabbit or any other air purifier.
