Has anybody look into Chrome Plating the bottom of the Automatic Power Running Boards?

So when they are closed you see the chrome plating. Has anybody done this yet and have any comments.

I've not seen anyone discuss this idea. It seems most forum members are looking to remove/cover chrome.

The bottoms of the boards take a lot of abuse from rocks and other road debris, so chrome might not hold up (unless this is purely a show truck). I suppose you could try a chrome vinyl first to get a feel for both the look and abuse.

Also, the black is designed to blend in/disappear into the rocker panel. I agree that trying a vinyl first is a good first step.
